Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Arc Ricolne, the main character of the story, has what middle name?

Answer: Eda

This is mentioned when the minister Andel proclaims Arc's fugitive status. However, Andel is only covering up for his own misdeeds. Arc and his friends must assume alternate identities upon returning to Seirya at the end of the game.
2. Who is the announcer in the tournament in Niedel?

Answer: Roc Roctoll

Roc Roctoll, the announcer of the tournament, has his own dirty agenda. Upon winning the Wind Orb, Roc tries to do your team in. Roc has done in every winner of the Wind Orb, explaining the superstition that possessing the Wind Orb leads to death. Catch Mamaman is the tournament announcer in "Arc the Lad 2", when the tournament moves out of Niedel.
3. What is the effect of equipping all four Romancing Stones?

Answer: Ability to cast spells without MP

This effect is handy for virtually any character because each character has some attacks that require MP. The obvious drawback, however, is that with four Romancing Stones equipped, no room is left for other accessories.
4. Which item is given to the player for talking to the announcer in Niedel ten times from behind?

Answer: Book of Cravis

The Book of Cravis protects the user from every status ailment. The Toy Ring, obtained by letting Poco fight in the Wind Orb tournament, causes the very useless Shift Flute to affect the entire battle map. Romancing Stone 3 is a freebie, given by Gogen when you first meet him. Chongara's Summon Pot comes from the Forbidden Ruins in Alatos.
5. What musical instrument does Poco obtain from the Water Guardian as a reward for eradicating a large number of enemies from Zariban?

Answer: Cheer Trumpet

The Cheer Trumpet is the only musical instrument Poco obtains from a side quest such as this, if you can call it a side quest. The Atrophy Horn is given automatically in Zariban, providing Poco with the ability to damage and blind a group of enemies.

The Slow Bass and Battle Drum are available at the beginning of the game. Slow Bass slows down the enemies, and Battle Drum increases attack power.
6. How many hit points does Choko have when the player must fight her?

Answer: 999

Choko provides probably the most difficult challenge in the game. With 999 hit points, Choko has more health than any other enemy in the game. Fortunately, she is susceptible to paralysis, sleep, and the like. Save some paralyze apples for the fight with her-they come in handy! If you don't have any, Jubakuzen works just as well. Let Tosh use Ouka Raibaku Zen and equip him with attack boosting items. Or, toast her with Fu-jin and Rai-jin.

After the fight, she joins you, but has much fewer hit points.
7. An allusion to the game show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" is made during a quiz when you are asked "Final answer?" (although you do not get to change your mind). Where does this take place?

Answer: Greyshinne

The Amaidar monks in Greyshinne are the only ones who quiz you about the game. Brakia does not appear until "Arc the Lad 2". In Niedel, you may test your battle skills in the arena. Seirya, the place of the beginning and ending of the game, has little in the way of side quests, but make sure you read Arc's father's letters in Touvil throughout the game. Arc may just be sent an item special delivery!
8. Which of these flame enemies does not make its way into Chongara's book?

Answer: Illusion Flame

The Illusion Flame is encountered in only one battle whose main feature is the difficult Illusion Lord. Interestingly enough, there is no space for either of these enemies in Chongara's book. If you want to fill the book, don't forget to scan the party members as well as the enemies.

The real challenge is scanning the dark versions of each character in the final battle (of course this can be done in the Black Tournament, but it's more difficult here because the opponents are random).
9. The Flame Cion is put out twice in the game.

Answer: True

Kukuru frees the Ark Ghoul at the beginning of the game by putting it out. Arc relights it, thus saving Kukuru. At the end of the game, it must be put out again in order to open the way to the Ark.
10. What is the 'Great Item' that the Chongara finds at the Ancient Monolith?

Answer: petrified dragon excrement

This scene does nothing to advance the story and can only be accessed before Iga permanently joins the party. It is humorous because the characters fight over something that is worthless. Gogen and Arc enjoy watching this foolishness from a distance.
