Question 1 of 10
1. The Deathslinger made an ingenious modification to his firearm, implementing a melee weapon underbarrel to be used for basic attacks. What weapon is this? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. The Deathslinger's power is simply named after his rifle: The Redeemer. A modified rifle armed with a spear instead of typical gun ammunition, Survivors shot with this will be hurting pretty good. As it's a rifle, it also has some decent range as well. What is the maximum range on the Redeemer? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. Once struck by the Redeemer, the spear can be used to reel Survivors in and get them within range of a basic attack. However, Survivors can fight back and can potentially free themselves should the Deathslinger take too long reeling them in close. This is still good for The Deathslinger, however, as doing this causes the Survivor breaking free to be afflicted with a nasty status effect. What effect is this? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Like any firearm, the Deathslinger will reach a point where he must reload the Redeemer before it can be fired again. How many shots is he able to fire before needing to reload? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Every Killer gets three teachable perks that, when acquired, can be given to other Killers. The Deathslinger's first teachable perk can potentially be used to help monitor generator progress after damaging a survivor. What perk is it? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The Deathslinger's second teachable perk is an obsession based perk; whenever the Obsession is hooked, Survivors which stop repairing a generator will have that generator become blocked by the Entity for a moderate period of time. What perk is this? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. The Deathslinger's final teachable perk is a Hex based perk, and a trap Hex at that. Survivors who cleanse a hex totem whilst this one is still in play, including this very hex totem, will cause the entire team's aura to be shown to the Killer for a sizable period of time. Whilst this hex perk is in play, cleansing dull totems will afflict Survivors with the Oblivious status effect. What hex perk is this? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. This add-on, an ultra rare, grants The Deathslinger the Undetectable Status when he Spears a Survivor

What add on is this?
Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. This ultra rare add-on handsomely pays off if a player is a sharpshooter: if a Survivor is speared 15 or more meters away, they will be afflicted with the Exposed status effect while being reeled in, and can be downed in one hit. What add-on is this? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Most Killers in this game possess a 115% movement speed advantage juxtaposed to the Survivors' run speed. Is the Deathslinger a 115% movement speed Killer?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Deathslinger made an ingenious modification to his firearm, implementing a melee weapon underbarrel to be used for basic attacks. What weapon is this?

Answer: Bayonet

Upon hitting a Survivor, the Deathslinger will chuckle ominously whilst in cooldown.

Answer: 18 meters

This range is good enough for the Deathslinger to make window vaulting very dangerous, as well as cut off certain pallet loops which don't have large structures within them. This makes him very efficient in chase.

Answer: Deep Wound

They will also have been injured as well, needing to mend before being able to do much else if they end up escaping the chase. If using the perk Save The Best For Last, intentionally allowing your obsession to break free is a worthwhile idea; if they are injured in this way, it will not cause the Deathslinger to lose tokens of that perk which would typically be lost for striking the obsession.
4. Like any firearm, the Deathslinger will reach a point where he must reload the Redeemer before it can be fired again. How many shots is he able to fire before needing to reload?

Answer: One

The Redeemer is break action, as there is only one spear attached to it which is the one fired every single time. As such, the player must place their shots carefully.
5. Every Killer gets three teachable perks that, when acquired, can be given to other Killers. The Deathslinger's first teachable perk can potentially be used to help monitor generator progress after damaging a survivor. What perk is it?

Answer: Gearhead

Gearhead was once possibly the most bizarre, enigmatic perk in the game. It could be a bit mind boggling how it used to work, as it originally required Killers to first land two basic attacks before the perk would even activate. After activation, if a Survivor hit a good skill check on a generator, that generator would light up yellow.

It used to be basic attack exclusive, which meant Killers such as The Huntress or The Trickster would scoff at it entirely due to them being Killers deriving a lot of value from their special attacks. It would later go on to be greatly buffed, now only requiring one damage state be inflicted to activate and also making it so that the damage state could be acquired through any means.

In its new state, Gearhead would be a lot more useful and really wouldn't be a terrible pick for anyone, the only caveat being Survivors could essentially "outplay" the perk if they only hit great skill checks on a generator. It saw particularly amazing value on The Artist in particular; she could get the one damage state through her power or a basic attack and, whenever a generator lit up, she could simply look at it, shoot a Dire Crow towards it to harass whoever is on the generator, and do so while staying in chase with whoever she was chasing.
6. The Deathslinger's second teachable perk is an obsession based perk; whenever the Obsession is hooked, Survivors which stop repairing a generator will have that generator become blocked by the Entity for a moderate period of time. What perk is this?

Answer: Dead Man's Switch

Dead Man's Switch was once an obsession based perk, which only activated if the Killer specifically hooked their Obsession. This perk would first get mega-buffed, activating on hooking any Survivor and blocking any generator that a Survivor let go of. It was a diabolical pairing with the Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance perk, as this perk could straight up force Survivors to let go of a generator and would force Dead Man's Switch to activate.

This combo of perks was so gnarly that both would go on to be nerfed, Pain Resonance receiving a gargantuan nerf and Dead Man's Switch being significantly nerfed to only work on one generator per activation, and being unable to activate again while that one generator was being blocked.

Even still, it remained a strong perk, and could still be paired with its old friend Pain Resonance to useful effect; just not effect that was brainless and impossible to play around as it had been previously.

Answer: Hex: Retribution

Retribution is an interesting pick for high mobility Killers such as The Nurse, Blight and Hillbilly, as they can identify Survivor auras and quickly arrive to them with their respective powers. Hillbilly and Blight can situationally capitalize on the Oblivious status effect as well, using the lack of Terror Radius to get up close to a Survivor before they have the chance to react properly.

That said, the state of the game as it carried on into the early and mid 2020s was not kind to Retribution. The perk never was significantly nerfed in anyway, but the state of the game around it became progressively more hostile to it. At one point in time, Survivors held a "if it glows, it goes" mentality with Hex totems that fed right into Retribution's hand. However, this ideology would go on to become outdated especially with the advent of The Artist's Hex Pentimento perk. As this happened in tandem with more and more Killer information perks releasing, Hex: Retribution became somewhat outdated.

It still functioned properly and did what it said it'd do on the label, so to speak. And, in a nutshell, it could still work as a trap Hex perk as always. That said, in terms of protecting one's Hex such as Ruin or Devour Hope, this idea was arguably outclassed by equipping Hex: Undying, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt and was contested by Hex: Haunted Ground. One had to squint really hard to embrace the strategy of Hex: Retribution, but it could put in work at the end of the day if called upon.
8. This add-on, an ultra rare, grants The Deathslinger the Undetectable Status when he Spears a Survivor What add on is this?

Answer: Hellshire Iron

Sadly, in terms of Iridescent add-ons, this one has had a brutal journey throughout its existence. It once somehow had an arguably even more useless effect, as it once revealed auras of all Survivors to The Deathslinger when he speared a Survivor. This effect was amusing at best, as Deathslinger's ability to turn is greatly restricted when he spears someone, making it inconsistent at best, impossible at worst, to gain any significant value from this aura reading.

Much like seeing auras, being Undetectable while spearing Survivors is similarly a benefit which is hard for him to take advantage of. Obviously, being stealthy means nothing to the one Survivor he has managed to spear. And if his attention is on one Survivor who he just very loudly fired a shot at, what sort of value can be had by simply not hearing his Terror Radius for a short time? That's to say nothing of the possibility that the Survivor he speared has voice communication with their teammates, making this add-on even more of a joke in such a context.

Not all add-ons were created equal, sadly.
9. This ultra rare add-on handsomely pays off if a player is a sharpshooter: if a Survivor is speared 15 or more meters away, they will be afflicted with the Exposed status effect while being reeled in, and can be downed in one hit. What add-on is this?

Answer: Iridescent Coin

Unfortunately, making use of this add-on is extremely difficult; Survivors will either be indoors and can use walls to block or dodge shots, or they'll be outdoors and can use the environment to help break free of the spear before the Deathslinger can reel them in. As the Redeemer's maximum range is 18 meters, the Deathslinger will have trouble actually landing a hit on a Survivor who is far enough away for this add-on to activate. Still, if the stars do align, it can make him even more lethal in chase, which counts for something.

That said, this add-on does achieve one thing which is arguably more important than being mechanically amazing: it can be a lot of fun to use! In years after this add-on was released, Behaviour began to reward players for "Sharpshooter" events where they landed a shot at 15 meters or more away. If the Deathslinger player is using this add-on, lands a shot and upon landing the shot receives Bloodpoints for "Sharpshooter", they can know for sure that they satisfied the 15 meter requirement for this add-on to function.

While none of that makes this add-on any better or easier to use per se, it at least makes it more fluid and less clunky.
10. Most Killers in this game possess a 115% movement speed advantage juxtaposed to the Survivors' run speed. Is the Deathslinger a 115% movement speed Killer?

Answer: No

Most ranged Killers tend to be slower than Killers who need to get up close to do damage. Much like the Deathslinger, the Trickster and Huntress, who are both mainly projectile oriented, move at 110% speed compared to the Survivors.
