Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Chapter 31: "All Things Wicked" Survivor Sable Ward, introduced in this Chapter, was packaged with an Invocation Perk. It could only be used in which spot?

Answer: The Basement

An original Chapter of the game released in early 2024, "All Things Wicked" had a distinct flavour to say the least, introducing a Lovecraftian Killer from a realm beyond (The Unknown) with the capability to (at least) attempt to mimic other beings it's come into contact with and a second witch Survivor (after Michaela) by the name of Sable Ward.

While Michaela introduced Boon Totems to the game, Sable would be the first Survivor to use Invocation, a ritual that could only be performed in the Basement. Invocation: Weaving Spiders allowed her to conduct this ritual for sixty seconds to give a progress boost to all Generators on the map at the cost of her health (making her Broken for the rest of the trial). The next Invocation Perk would be introduced in Chapter 34 with Taurie Cain.
2. Chapter 32: "Dungeons & Dragons" When facing off against Vecna (The Lich), players can interact with which of these, spurring a dice roll?

Answer: Chests

"Dungeons & Dragons" would be a big get for "Dead by Daylight", arriving in the game shortly after the game's eighth anniversary in 2024 with two new Survivors and a Killer in the form of Vecna (made popular once again by TV's "Stranger Things"). Vecna, in this instance, had the ability to shift between different magical attacks in a trial, giving great versatility to players who could master the difficulty curve.

An additional quirk to come from these matches was the ability to open chests located around the map-- different ones from your typical trial chests. These ones would spur the roll of a d20, and your result would reward you with magical gloves, boots, or special items that could give you advantages if used. These could also be swapped and, in the worst case, if you rolled a 1, you could be eaten by a chest mimic. Classic.
3. Chapter 33: "Castlevania" Which of these is not a form that the Killer of this Chapter, Dracula, can take on?

Answer: Omniscient Form

The game's "Castlevania" Chapter, which released midway through 2024, brought classic figures from the Capcom video game series (and other subsequent media) to life, allowing players to take on the role of Simon Belmont (as the Survivor) or Dracula, himself (as the Killer). The latter, dubbed 'The Dark Lord' for the game's sake, was another in a line-up of more complex Killers to handle, being able to jump between three different forms in a trial to better take out the Survivor squad.

In Vampire Form, Dracula could wander around as normal, striking Survivors with regular hits or with a Flaming Pillar; in Wolf Form, Dracula could hunt for Survivors with greater speed, performing a lunge attack (kind of like the Demogorgon); in Bat Form, he could fly around the map with more discretion, appearing in window vaults to catch Survivors off-guard.

This Chapter did not release with a new Realm.
4. Chapter 34: "Doomed Course" The Killer for this chapter is accompanied by which of these animals, a first for the game?

Answer: Dog

Showing up in the game in late 2024, "Doomed Course" introduced two reluctant characters into the Fog.

On the Survivor side, Taurie Cain, another magic-using character, actually seemed to align herself more with the forces of eldritch evil, but the Entity brought her in, instead, to toy with her.

On the Killer side, however, we received The Houndmaster, a character made evil by a tragic past who entered the Fog with her trusty dog by her side. Although this Killer has basic melee capabilities, much of how she operates feeds through the hound who she can send out for reconnaissance to locate Survivors elsewhere on the map or to charge out, snag the Survivor in its jaws, and attack with.
5. Chapter 35: "Tokyo Ghoul" This Chapter only released with which of the following?

Answer: Killer

A popular Chapter from 2025, the "Tokyo Ghoul" DLC only released with Ken Kaneki, the Ghoul himself, due in part to ongoing quality of life changes and updates in the game taking place at the same time. Not only would summer of 2025 see the introduction of Orela Rose as an original Survivor (in the "Steady Pulse" DLC), but Rick and Michonne, both of "The Walking Dead", would enter the Fog shortly thereafter as part of a "Walking Dead" subchapter.

The Ghoul would take up much the attention of a great many Killers in 2025 due in part to its mechanics, which could allow him to cross the map rapidly, debilitating Survivors with his Kagune Mark. It would be a similar uptake to Wesker, introduced in the earlier "Project W"/"Resident Evil" Chapter release.
6. Chapter 36: "Five Nights at Freddy's" When facing off against The Animatronic, how many Security Doors appear on the map (at a default value)?

Answer: Seven

Long-requested, "Five Nights at Freddy's" finally appeared as DLC for "Dead by Daylight" following their ninth anniversary in 2025, arriving with Springtrap as its main feature. While other Killers have transitioned into other realms as part of their powers (The Demogorgon, for instance, and The Xenomorph), The Animatronic accomplishes this by spawning with seven Security Doors which he can use to both surveil the map and pass through from spot to spot covertly. Survivors can use the doors as well, navigating to evade capture, but they can be caught out in this liminal space and, at that point, be immediately hooked.

The Animatronic also utilizes a throwable Fire Axe, not unlike The Huntress' Hatchets, while the Chapter released with a new Map in the Withered Isle Realm, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, from the original game series.
7. Chapter 37: "Sinister Grace" The Killer introduced in this Chapter took its roots from the folklore of what Asian nation?

Answer: Thailand

The first and only full original Chapter of DLC for "Dead by Daylight" in 2025, "Sinister Grace" dug deep into Asian folk horror by introducing The Krasue, a being capable of transitioning between a human form and a floating creature composed of nothing but a head and bodily organs, capable of flying around the map. Worse, The Krasue is able to shoot Survivors with Leeching Glands that can debilitate them over time, making them more susceptible to damage. Survivors can only get rid of this with Glowing Fungus found in the trial.

Released alongside The Krasue was a new Survivor, Vee Boonyasak, whose past life as a drummer in a band allows her to leverage support perks that might just make her an ideal teammate.
8. Chapter 38: "Stranger Things Chapter 2" Revisiting the famous Netflix TV show for this Chapter, which character was not included as part of this release?

Answer: Joyce Byers

While the first Chapter of "Stranger Things", featuring Nancy, Steve, and The Demogorgon (and the Hawkins Lab map), released way back in 2019 to coincide with the third season of the Netflix TV show, it would take until late 2025 to see a revisit to this specific IP, a surprise to many due to Netflix's intent to make their own game based on the popular show and the fact that the original Chapter was temporarily delisted.

"Chapter 2" features Dustin Henderson and Eleven as Survivors and Henry Creel, the main bad guy, as the Killer, making him not only the second "Stranger Things" Killer, but the second 'Vecna' (the first showing up with "Dungeons & Dragons"). Creel brings with him a number of new game mechanics including a ranged vine attack, the ability to lightly traverse through the Upside-Down, and 'Worldbreaker', an ability that will have Survivors attending to grandfather clocks scattered around the map.
9. Chapter 39: "All-Kill: Comeback" This Chapter saw a functional rework of what earlier released Killer?

Answer: The Trickster

Although there was no new Killer in this perhaps-unexpected Chapter revisit, players received both a new Korean Survivor, Kwon Tae-young, and a new map set in a Korean cityscape (called Trickster's Delusion). Instead, this was an opportunity to give a rather popular Killer a more significant overhaul; developers reworked his core abilities (while still keeping his projectile blades and Main Event ability intact) by creating Style Ranks which could up his reload and throw speeds on the go.

"All-Kill: Comeback" released in early 2026.
10. Chapter 40: "Jason" 'The Stalker', Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th", was introduced at the tenth anniversary of "Dead by Daylight". He uses which of these as projectiles?

Answer: Spikes

It took ten years, but "Dead by Daylight" finally got one of the long-awaited horror juggernauts into the game with Jason Voorhees, the masked Killer from "Friday the 13th", into the Fog. Though this Chapter would not introduce any of the film series' Survivors into the fold, nor would it bring Camp Crystal Lake to the game, it would prove to be a highly-anticipated contribution to the 'Hall of Fame of Horrors'. It arrived in-game shortly after its tenth anniversary in June 2026.

In addition to being outfitted with a melee weapon, 'The Slasher' also makes use of Spikes, large projectiles, like javelins, which he can throw to impale Survivors from a distance, and he can make these out of scrap piles in a trial or from the hooks (rendering them useless, temporarily). Additionally, Jason's ability to create a jump scare is put to use; he can manifest as an Omnipresent Evil, appearing before Survivors at a pallet or vault to attack from the fog.
