Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the hero that you control through all four campaigns?

Answer: Tarnum

Tarnum is a very skilled warrior and a great leader that has three great quests to complete. The complex story is all based around him - the messages you receive at the beginning of some days go quite deep into his personal feelings and life.
Drakon and Cuthbert are heroes, but not important ones, and Tordac is the son of one of Tarnum's advisers.
2. What is the name of the first campaign in the series?

Answer: Warlords of the Wasteland

If you think about it, Warlords of the Wasteland is the campaign where Tarnum performs his tremendous wrongs that he has to fix later on. The base town for this campaign is the Stronghold but towards the end Clerics and Knights become just as important as Barbarians.
3. What is the name of the "only girl I (Tarnum) ever loved"?

Answer: Yalla

Yalla, the beautiful warrior woman, comes into Tarnum's camp to sell such things as sheep and information at very high prices. She can get quite annoying because she always demands so much gold. Later, Tarnum has nightmares that he killed Yalla.
4. In the first half of "Master of the Elements", the main town type is the Tower.

Answer: True

Although the main battles on the Plane of Magic are fought with Conflux troops, the first five (at least) scenarios are based on troops like enchanters, genies, Titans, and gargoyles. "Master of the Elements" is my favourite of the "Heroes Chronicles" campaigns because Tarnum's spell power can get so high that thousands of damage can be done with one spell.
5. What is the first scenario in "Conquest of the Underworld" called?

Answer: Cerberus Gate

This scenario is well named but I would have expected to have a throng of Cerberi or Hell Hounds guarding the gate instead of a garrison. Cerberus Gate is a well-made warm-up for the rest of the campaign.
6. The last scenario in "Conquest of the Underworld" which is really entertaining and quite tough: Never Deal with a ______?

Answer: Demon

Deezelisk betrayed Tarnum and turned against him. You have to track the REALLY powerful demon down and kill him. He usually stays in his town which makes it even harder.
An aspect I like about this map is the two people stuck in a village of halflings and castle buildings that can round up hundreds of useful troops.
7. What is the main town type that is introduced in the "Clash of the Dragons" campaign?

Answer: Rampart

Tarnum basically has to do a whole lot of quests to find artifacts in this campaign. He is a bit of a hippy elf-man, which I find funny because in all the others he is a fearsome fighter. I love the Rampart town (mainly because of the Grand Elves, Centaur Captains, and Silver Pegasi) but I found this line of maps was too easy.
8. What is Tarnum's special ability in "Conquest of the Underworld"?

Answer: Increased Attack and Defence for Ballistas

In this campaign, Tarnum can become very effective with Ballistas. All you need to do is get Expert Artillery and a high attack skill. In "Master of the Elements", Tarnum can upgrade Magi (and monks) into enchanters. In "Warlords of the Wasteland", Tarnum gets a 5% bonus per level for Offence, which was one of this question's choices.
9. What is the God tribunal that punishes Tarnum after he dies, forcing him to become both a wizard and a knight?

Answer: The Ancestors

The Ancestors are the judges- they decide who of the Barbarian race is allowed to enter Paradise (similar to Heaven, I suppose). Tarnum was not worthy because of his past, so had to repay his debt to humankind.
10. Which of these creatures is NOT new to the "Heroes" series (ie. Which of these was a creature in "Heroes II")?

Answer: Crusader

Crusaders were the strongest units (upgraded Paladins) in the Castle in "Heroes II", but they are only upgraded swordsmen now. Instead of firebirds, there was only Phoenixes, and the upgraded ogres were practically the same but they were called ogre lords.
Gargoyles were made of stone, but because they could not be upgraded that didn't need to be mentioned.
I hope the quiz wasn't too easy or too hard, and I thank you for your cooperation.
