Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the only vision in "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" that doesn't contain a mirror spirit (not counting the boss levels)?

Answer: The Forgotten Path

Both "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's veil" and "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" feature mirror spirits which upon being released will temporarily double the score for each dream stone. They make collecting all 150 gems per vision much more of a challenge, as you are required to get a certain amount while it is activated.

In a few instances, you can sneak in a few more than the required amount - resulting in you getting over 150 dream stones.
2. What is the only boss in "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" whose name is not mentioned in the story?

Answer: The fourth boss, after A Lull in the Wind

The fourth boss is a unique battle, as it has you swinging on a log forcing you to dodge obstacles as you go back and forth, and hit the boss as you swing toward it. In the music player, the first three bosses have their names in the title of the music track featured during their fight.

The track for the fourth boss fight is titled "Baladium's Drive", so we can assume it's name is Baladium.
3. Which of the following characters actually has lines in the story of "Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament"?

Answer: Gomeroth

Gomeroth is Klonoa's second opponent in the tournament, so he has some lines in the cut-scenes. He is the only of the characters specific to this game to have lines besides Suiryu.
4. There is a game other than "Klonoa: Beach Volleyball" where you can play as Gantz.

Answer: True

In "Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal" - a game released only in Japan - you play not only as Klonoa, but also as Gantz and a character named Pango. You can switch characters at any time during a level (unless certain events in the story cause a character not to be in your party) by pressing the L button. Gantz fights with various guns, and Pango with bombs. Klonoa fights with various melee weapons.
5. What is the second world in "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams"?

Answer: Priamill

Ghazzaland is the first level, Priamill is the second, Jiobob the third, Santal the fourth. Priamill is themed as an opera house. The last level in the game is the imperial castle, titled Leljimba.
6. What is the name of the Klonoa game for the Japanese Wonderswan system?

Answer: Moonlight Museum

"Klonoa: Moonlight Museum" was the second game released in the series, and is probably the least heard of. It also tends to score the least in reviews but at the same time is known by some people as one of the best Wonderswan games. It is a lot like "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams", and the latter game adopted the former's play style.

However, "Klonoa: Moonlight Museum" is much easier. An interesting feature is that it takes advantage of the Wonderswan's ability to play horizontally.
7. Which of the following is a true statement about "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile"?

Answer: You have 6 hits of health

In "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" you have two layers to each heart, resulting in you having six hits in that game as compared to the three in "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil". The other three answers are completely false in this game.
8. Is Klonoa a character in the Japanese crossover game, "Namco x Capcom"?

Answer: Yes

"Namco x Capcom" is a character crossover RPG that features characters from various series by both Namco and Capcom. Klonoa and Gantz are both usable characters, though a few other characters in the series also make an appearance.
9. Klonoa is often referred to as the Dream Traveler. In the Namco game, "Tales of Symphonia", one character can get the "title" of "Dream Traveler". Which character is it?

Answer: Presea Combatir

"Tales of Symphonia" uses a title system, where you can earn and receive titles from various events or conditions. You can select a title from the status screen, and the chosen title will slightly effect your stats. Some titles change a character's costume when selected. Presea Combatir can get the title "Dream Traveler" if you talk with George in Altamira at a certain point late in the game. If you select this title, she dresses in the same outfit as Klonoa - who is apparently Altamira's new mascot.
10. In "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile", during the third boss fight, hitting Granny with a moo effects the cut-scene after the fight.

Answer: True

If you hit Granny, she will "scold" Klonoa before the cut-scene proceeds as normal. To defeat the third boss, you must toss moos down on him from above, after jumping on a spring.
11. In "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" each vision has a secondary title that appears when you begin the vision. (For example the one for Joliant Fun Park is "A Date With Tat", the one for The Forgotten Path is "Deliverance".) What is the secondary title for The Ark Revisited?

Answer: Countdown

The Ark Revisited is the second to last platforming level in the game. It is one of the harder ones. The objective is to destroy the three engines keeping it afloat. Each time you destroy one, however, you have to race for the exit - or that area will blow up with you still inside! They give you plenty of time, though.
12. In "Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament" what must be done to receive an "S" ranking after you complete a vision?

Answer: Take no damage, get the Sun Stone, get all dream stones, use no retries

You must do everything perfect to get an "S" rank for a vision. The requirement of taking no damage is probably what makes this task the most challenging. You get the "Dream Gallery" after you get all "S" ranks, which shows all the unlockable pictures.
13. Which of the following is a real item in "Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal"?

Answer: Boiled egg

Food items restore HP in this Japanese only game. The boiled egg is the weakest, the middle item is ramen, and the curry restores all your HP. You can find these items in chests within visions or buy them at an item shop. The only other ways to restore HP are to level up or stay at an inn.
14. Which of the following characters is playable in "Klonoa: Beach Volleyball"?

Answer: Nahatomb

Surprisingly, the other three characters are not playable (though Huepow serves as referee and Balue has a very brief appearance). Nahatomb is an un-lockable character, but he is not the same as the Nahatomb in "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile".
15. Regardless of which way Klonoa is facing (left or right) in "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams", the Pac-Man design on his hat is always facing you.

Answer: True

Since Klonoa's sprite is exactly the same in the aforementioned game's sequel, "Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament" the same holds true there. He also always carries the ring in the hand facing the screen, regardless of direction. In other words, his sprite looks the same whether its turned left of right.
16. At what point in "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" can you not use Klonoa's ring?

Answer: During part of the boss fight: Polonte the Hatch-ling

Lolo has to be inside the ring for it to work, but it is too busy being depressed to go in before the first part of the fight with Polonte the Hatch-ling. You are on your hover-board, and have to go through accelerators to pick up enough speed to ram into the boss to damage it. During the second half Lolo perks up and you can use the ring as normal.
17. Which of the following characters appear in "Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal"?

Answer: Balue

Balue teaches Klonoa his two special attacks in the game. He appears in the first world, and Volk - the fifth world. He is still in love with Lephise.
18. "Between Light and Darkness" - which vision is this from "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile"?

Answer: Vision 5 - 2

Between Light and Darkness is a tricky level. When you are outside, it constantly changes from day to night. When it is dark, you can't pick up or hurt enemies, and you are chased by an invincible creature.
19. What is Klonoa's favorite food?

Answer: hamburgers

According to the "official definitions" seen on some websites and such, Klonoa's favorite food is hamburgers and one of his least favorites is tomatoes. We also know he likes hamburgers because that is what he orders in the restaurant in Jiobob in "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams".
20. What does Popka say Klonoa reminds him of in the ending of "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil"?

Answer: The Goddess of Lunatea

After the King of Sorrow is defeated, Popka remarks to Lolo that Klonoa reminders him of Lunatea's goddess, Claire. The remark is Popka's last line in the game.
21. What is Klonoa most afraid of?

Answer: Water

It is obvious in the games that Klonoa is terrified of water. He can only go underwater in a submarine like machine - underwater visions are featured in "Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament" and "Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal". It is Lolo who is afraid of ghosts.
22. What Playstation 2 game, released in 2000, featured Klonoa as an unlockable, playable character?

Answer: Moto GP

Klonoa appears in "Moto GP" as an unlockable racer and he is unlocked by beating challenge 22. For some reason he appears huge compared to all the other racers.
23. In "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil", just after you reach Joliant for the first time, the element is stolen by Tat. After she steals it, she splits into two, and you choose which Tat to chase first. Which one actually has the element?

Answer: It's always the second one you catch, no matter which one you go after first

No matter which vision you choose, the first Tat you chase will never have it. You always have to go through both Joliant Fun Park and Jungle Slider and catch them both. The second one you catch will have the element.
24. Which of the following is not the name of a character in "Klonoa: Empire of Dreams"?

Answer: Molla

Beryll is the first person you talk to in Priamill, and Chirin is the chef you save in Jiobob. Jillius is the emperor. The name "Molla" is just made up.
25. Karal and Pamela don't appear in any game other than "Klonoa: Door the Phantomile".

Answer: False

The mother and child fish duo also appear in "Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal". Basically, Pamela has turned evil again (for a different reason), and Karal asks you to save her. Pamela is the boss for the second world.
