Question 1 of 10
1. "Kyle, one of my favorite games is, yes, a "Tak" game. I love "Tak". This one is best played as two players. You can play it as one, but it is much more difficult and time consuming, although there is no difference besides you having to play both characters!"
"Yeah, you have been talking about "Tak" a lot lately."
"Lol, Kyle. This is my favorite of the "Tak" games."

In which game do you play both Tak and Lok, as either one or two players?
Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. "Well Salami," Kyle began. "The game I have in mind is a bit of a departure from what you've suggested, but I'm sure it'll be pretty good."
"What is this?" Salami asked, curious with the change.
"I have to suggest an Xbox 360 game for some reason."

In which game do cooperative players fill the roles of Marcus and Dom?
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. "Kyle," Salami continued. "Would you like to play a game with me?"
Kyle replied: "Sure Salami. Which one did you have in mind?"
"Well, this game is so much better with two players. You don't have to keep moving from two players back and forth, which is ESPECIALLY helpful when fighting Jango Fett, and in "Free Play" you can take in TWO create-a-characters."

What game is Salami blabbering on about?
Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. "Well," Kyle continued. "LEGO is great and all, but I can't help but keep going with shooters."
"Why's that, Kyle?" Salami quickly asked.
"Well, the formula is tried and tested. Shooters just line up characters for good co-op games."

Released by Electronic Arts in 2008, what two-player co-op game follows Salem and Rios?

Answer: (Three Words)
Question 5 of 10

"Yes, of course," Kyle agreed.
"My favorite is football."

6. "Sometimes," Kyle began. "It's best to bring another monkey along for the ride."
"What?" Salami asked.

Which "Donkey Kong Country" game was first to allow a two-player team to participate in the main adventure?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Salami started the conversation next. "Kyle, I love Crash Bandicoot."
"I know, Salami," Kyle replied. "You say that way too often."
"I know, and I just wanted to say, one of the greatest 'Crash' games is a two-player game."

Which of these was the first adventure "Crash" game that could be played co-operatively?
Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. "Think about this, Salami," Kyle started. "Cooperative gameplay in a storybook type setting with a level creator and customizable characters."
"Couldn't that be anything?" Salami reasoned.
"Well..."

What PS3 cooperative game stars Sackboy?

Question 9 of 10
9. "You know, Kyle, we have been talking about games we think are fun playing cooperatively."
"That we have, Salami."
"What about games that have been degraded by adding that second player?"
"What do you mean?" Kyle asked, quite anxious for a response.
"Well, I mean, in this Wii game, all the second player does it point the controller at the screen and collect the stars and occasionally toss them at bad guys. It really isn't quite fair for the second player not to do a whole lot, and the first player doesn't get to do all this stuff, either."

What game is Salami referring to?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. "At last we come to a great Wii game," Kyle said.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Kyle, one of my favorite games is, yes, a "Tak" game. I love "Tak". This one is best played as two players. You can play it as one, but it is much more difficult and time consuming, although there is no difference besides you having to play both characters!" "Yeah, you have been talking about "Tak" a lot lately." "Lol, Kyle. This is my favorite of the "Tak" games." In which game do you play both Tak and Lok, as either one or two players?

Answer: Tak and the Great Juju Challenge

In "The Great Juju Challenge," Tak and Lok represent the Pupanunu tribe. The duo must travel through several levels as quickly as they can. The more time on the timer, the better the score, but you also get a higher score for how many enemies you defeat and how many bugs, crystals, and fruit you collect. You must try to get the highest score on the levels, and beat the Black Mist tribe, a tribe that majorly cheats, the Glammazon tribe, an older few, and the Jibba Jabba tribe. "The Great Juju Challenge" is the third in the "Tak" series, released in 2005-2006 in some parts of the world like the US and Europe.
2. "Well Salami," Kyle began. "The game I have in mind is a bit of a departure from what you've suggested, but I'm sure it'll be pretty good." "What is this?" Salami asked, curious with the change. "I have to suggest an Xbox 360 game for some reason." In which game do cooperative players fill the roles of Marcus and Dom?

Answer: Gears of War 2

When the original "Gears of War" game was released on the Xbox 360 in 2006, it was critically lauded as one of the major games to get in the seventh-generation's earlier years. With this system seller, and the anticipation of the yet-to-be-released "Halo 3", "Gears" became one of the most popular titles selling over five million units within its first two years.

It was only natural for the gears to start turning on a sequel, and in 2008, fans got what they wanted. "Gears of War 2" launched in early November (hitting the Christmas market just right) and sold two million within its first two months.

In the game, players can take a one or two-player campaign to defeat the Locust (who survived after the events of the first game) as members of the Delta Squad. Online multiplayer is also a popular feature of this game, allowing many worldwide users to battle or work together.
3. "Kyle," Salami continued. "Would you like to play a game with me?" Kyle replied: "Sure Salami. Which one did you have in mind?" "Well, this game is so much better with two players. You don't have to keep moving from two players back and forth, which is ESPECIALLY helpful when fighting Jango Fett, and in "Free Play" you can take in TWO create-a-characters." What game is Salami blabbering on about?

Answer: Lego Star Wars I

"Lego Star Wars" was originally made for the first three episodes of the hexology, in LEGO form. There was a special bonus at the end of episode four to give you a glimpse of the upcoming "Lego Star Wars II". "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" involved all six movies. "Lego Indiana Jones" followed the first three movies, but not the fourth. "Lego Batman" followed the movies from new to old of, you guessed it, Batman.
4. "Well," Kyle continued. "LEGO is great and all, but I can't help but keep going with shooters." "Why's that, Kyle?" Salami quickly asked. "Well, the formula is tried and tested. Shooters just line up characters for good co-op games." Released by Electronic Arts in 2008, what two-player co-op game follows Salem and Rios?

Answer: Army of Two

This cooperative, third-person shooter game was released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in March 2008. Playing solo or with a partner, the game follows two characters, Salem and Rios, one a witty, smart guy, the other a bit older and more stern (cue "Odd Couple" theme).

As the two go through over a decade of missions, their tenure in the army builds to the foiling of international plots of terrorism. The unique style of gameplay relies heavily on cooperation between the two players, and different techniques are performed based on how the players interact. The game was highly anticipated, but received a differing of opinions from many gaming outlets. Most of the praise did, in fact, come from the co-op elements.
5. "Of course, Kyle, any sports game is better when you are against a real player instead of a computer," Salami said. "Yes, of course," Kyle agreed. "My favorite is football." Which of these is a football video game series?

Answer: Madden

"Madden" is a video game series that comes up with a new game every year. It is a game of football. You choose your teams, who is home and who is visiting, and play. Each quarter is only five minutes long, as opposed to fifteen, so the game is much shorter than actual football! The game is found on many consoles, including the PS2, PS3, Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox, and countless others. "Tiger Woods PGA World Tour" is of course, golf. Michael Jordan plays for the NBA, which is basketball, and Tony Hawk has a series of games, but they are all skateboarding!
6. "Sometimes," Kyle began. "It's best to bring another monkey along for the ride." "What?" Salami asked. Which "Donkey Kong Country" game was first to allow a two-player team to participate in the main adventure?

Answer: Donkey Kong Country

From the very beginning, the 1994 SNES title, "Donkey Kong Country" came with a single player journey, two-player team game, or two-player versus. In the two-player team versions of the game, a player would continue until they either completed a stage or were killed. Two player versus, on the other hand, would result in two different sets of Kongs playing the exact same levels head to head. The "Donkey Kong Country" games graced the SNES system with quite good sales, solidifying Donkey Kong as one of the major franchises of Nintendo's lineup.

The original "Donkey Kong Country" game was the best-selling, producing more than nine million copies over the life of the system. All three games were also critically praised, with all three receiving A-ratings.
7. Salami started the conversation next. "Kyle, I love Crash Bandicoot." "I know, Salami," Kyle replied. "You say that way too often." "I know, and I just wanted to say, one of the greatest 'Crash' games is a two-player game." Which of these was the first adventure "Crash" game that could be played co-operatively?

Answer: Crash Bash

"Crash Bash" was released in 2000, and was the first game to feature two-player game mode. "Crash Tag Team Racing" is the third in the spin-off racing series, and was released in 2005. "Crash of the Titans" was released early in 2007, and "Mind Over Mutant" was released in mid-2008.
8. "Think about this, Salami," Kyle started. "Cooperative gameplay in a storybook type setting with a level creator and customizable characters." "Couldn't that be anything?" Salami reasoned. "Well..." What PS3 cooperative game stars Sackboy?

Answer: LittleBigPlanet

"LittleBigPlanet", perhaps one of the most anticipated titles for the Playstation 3 in 2008, was one of the first major cooperative games of the console. With a fun, carefree nature, the game is seemingly childish on the outside, but turns out to be a lot more complicated. Shoddily-built (yet somehow, perfectly-made) levels grace the game, and to navigate these, the player creates a customizable, burlap Sackboy. Up to four different Sackboys can be played in each level, so teaming up in a local or online multiplayer game is definitely a great idea.

As well, players can get together and create new, themed levels in a level creator. In late 2008, a "Metal Gear Solid-themed" level pack was released as a Christmas bonus.
9. "You know, Kyle, we have been talking about games we think are fun playing cooperatively." "That we have, Salami." "What about games that have been degraded by adding that second player?" "What do you mean?" Kyle asked, quite anxious for a response. "Well, I mean, in this Wii game, all the second player does it point the controller at the screen and collect the stars and occasionally toss them at bad guys. It really isn't quite fair for the second player not to do a whole lot, and the first player doesn't get to do all this stuff, either." What game is Salami referring to?

Answer: Super Mario Galaxy

In "Super Mario Galaxy," Mario must, like in most "Mario" games, save the princess. In this case, you are saving Princess Peach. During one player mode, you, as Mario, go through all these worlds upright, upside-down, inside, and outside, up and around, to and fro, to find Princess Peach. You use the Nunchuk to move, and the Wiimote to jump and collect stars. During two player mode, the second player gets their own Wiimote, but no Nunchuk.

They are now the collector of stars. They can use these stars to attack enemies, and they can also point it at your character to make you jump very high.

This can be quite helpful, and if you have a "funny guy" friend playing, he can make you jump when you don't want to jump. In "Super Mario Galaxy," you are saving Princess Peach.

It is interesting to note that she was not always Peach. She was once Pauline, and then Daisy. Nowadays, Daisy has appeared on the scene as a whole new character.
10. "At last we come to a great Wii game," Kyle said. "Which is that?" Salami inquired. "Well Salami, it's the one with the Subspace Emissary." Which Wii game, released in 2008, is this regarding?

Answer: Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Although the majority of "Super Smash Bros. Brawl's" major pluses are in the multiplayer versus segments of the game, the regularly single-player adventure of this game, known as the Subspace Emissary, is also a two-player quest. Although the quest may be more fun cooperatively, the ironic twist is that in side-scrolling levels, the camera will always follow the first-player character.

As an aside, Event Mode of the game can also be completed in a two-player setting, though the game will supply players with an entirely different set of event matches from the original. "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" was regarded as a fantastic game by critics upon its release and it was preceded by two titles (an original on the Nintendo 64 and a second, "Melee", on the Gamecube).

It was released in March 2008.
