Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which person played the voice of Solid Snake in the English version of the game?

Answer: David Hayter

Solid Snake was played by David Hayter, who also played the voice of Naked Snake(Big Boss) in "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater". Paul Eiding was the voice of Colonel Roy Campbell, Cam Clarke was Liquid Snake, and Christopher Randolph was the voice of Dr. Hal "Otacon" Emmerich.
2. What year was "Metal Gear Solid" set in?

Answer: 2005

This game was set in 2005, although it was first released on the Playstation in 1998. The Tanker chapter in "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" was set in 2007, and the Plant chapter was set in 2009- four years after the Shadow Moses Incident. 2003 was just a made-up year.
3. Who is the first boss you encounter?

Answer: Revolver Ocelot

Revolver Ocelot was the first boss you encounter in the game- in a gun fight. Although you defeat him, he is not killed. Gray Fox (Ninja) was fought in a classic hand to hand battle. Vulcan Raven was involved in battle twice- in the tank and then in the battle where he was armed with the M61 Vulcan, where he eventually dies. Liquid Snake was fought against on numerous other occasions, such as the Hind D battle, Metal Gear Rex itself, the hand to hand battle ontop of Metal Gear and in the final car chase.
4. What relation does Naomi Hunter have with Gray Fox?

Answer: She is his adoptive sister

Naomi Hunter is revealed to be Gray Foxs' adoptive sister.Snake finds this out when Naomi secretly contacts Snake via the codec.Naomi also tells Snake that she had planned her revenge on Snake too, by injecting him with the FoxDie virus. However Naomi, feeling guilty, reprograms the virus and gives Snake enough time to survive to complete the mission.
5. What role is it revealed that Revolver Ocelot played?

Answer: Double Agent

At the end of the game, during a codec call, it is revealed that Ocelot is really a double agent, in league with the then U.S president George Sears "Solidus"- who plays a big role in the sequel "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty". Liquid Snake was the FoxHound leader.
6. Which character was in love with Sniper Wolf?

Answer: Otacon

After the second sniper battle with Sniper Wolf, she requests that Snake kills her after he defeats her. He and Otacon stay with her until she dies and it is here when Otacon reveals that he loved Sniper Wolf. Overcome with grief, he still assists Snake with his mission.
7. How does Liquid Snake seemingly die?

Answer: FoxDie virus

Liquid Snake was eventually killed after the car chase by the FoxDie virus. The nuclear air strike never happened and although he falls off Metal Gear during the hand to hand battle with Snake, he doesn't die. Liquid also somehow survives the Hind D crash, after Snake succesfully destroys it with the Stinger missile launcher.
8. How can the unlockable item, the Bandana, be obtained?

Answer: Completing the game with Meryl

Completing the game with Meryl results in obtaining the Bandana when the game is replayed from the start. Completing it with Otacon gives you the valuable Stealth Camouflage. The game is unable to be completed with Snake alone. The outcome of the torture scene with Revolver Ocelot determines whether or not you save Meryl, and whether or not you get the Bandana or Stealth camouflage.
9. What is the true identity of Master Miller?

Answer: He is Liquid Snake

The real Master Miller was found dead by Roy Campbell, and the fake Miller was played by Liquid Snake, tricking Solid Snake into activating Metal Gear REX. Liquid, revealing himself to Snake, tells him that both he and Solid were part of the Les Enfants Terribles project, an effort by the government to try to clone the legendary Big Boss.
10. Where is the game set?

Answer: Alaska

The game was set in Alaska- Shadow Moses, which is the site of a nuclear weapons disposal facility, where Snake was previously enjoying his retirement. Snake was called back into action by his old commanding officer, Colonel Roy Campbell.
