Answer: The attack uses some HP

Spending a few HP, Cecil will blast all enemies with a Dark elemental attack that does around 50% of the damage of a single Fight command. Ever wondered why the Dark Knight at Mount Ordeals could do this in the original and you couldn't? Now you can!

2. Cecil and Kain deliver a "Package" to the village of Mist.

Answer: False

It's no longer a package, but a Bomb Ring. However, even with the name change, it still sets Mist to burn. You'd think with a name like Bomb Ring, Cecil and Kain wouldn't be surprised at the outcome...

3. Of the three characters who fight Octomammoth in the passage from Kaipo to Castle Damcyan, who does not have a new ability?

Answer: Young Rydia

Cecil has his new Dark attack as described above. Tellah has a new ability called Recall, where he may be able to remember an advanced spell and use it without wasting MP. It has potential, but don't rely on this one to save you... The one time I got it to work, he used Blizzard (aka Ice1). Fun. Tellah will lose this ability once he visits the shrine at Mount Ordeals, as the light lets him recall all of his forgotten spells. Young Rydia remains exactly the same as in the original version with Black magic, White magic, and Summons.

4. Edward the Crown Prince of Damcyan has a new ability this time. What does it do?

Answer: Heal a small amount of HP to all party members

Edward can now recover some HP for all members for no MP with his Heal command. Sing still yields a random song as before. Also, harps did the same amount of damage in the back row in the original as well. Much easier to keep the weakling alive in the back, especially since he automatically Hides when critical.

5. In the original, Yang has three commands: Fight, Kick, and Item. How many does he have in the new version?

Answer: 5

He adds two abilities to his original three. Power lets Yang charge up attack power for one round to attack at double strength the next time. Gird lets him boost his defense, which is nice as he never gets to wear any decent armor.

6. After Golbez takes Rosa and Fabul's Air Crystal, the King of Fabul gives Cecil a sword left behind by another Dark Knight. What is it called?

Answer: Deathbringer sword

In the old version it was the Black sword, but now it's the Deathbringer. Same effect though... it still has a very good chance to instantly kill anything in one blow (save the undead).

7. Who is Golbez's Lord of Earth?

Answer: Scarmiglione

In this version, they are the Lords of the Elements, not the Fiends. And it's Scarmiglione, not Milon anymore. Same strategies apply though. Use Fire spells on his undead army, and then prepare to be attacked from behind as you approach the shrine.

8. Cecil the Paladin has a new ability.

Answer: False

Nothing new for our favorite Paladin. Same six White magic spells (Cure, Sight, Scan, Cura, Teleport, Esuna), same powerful weapons, same Cover ability and same leaping to protect critical party members from physical attacks. I was hoping for the Life spell... maybe even Holy...

9. Which of the Mysidian twin Wizards have new abilities?

Answer: Both of them

Palom can Bluff his way into temporarily boosting his Intellect, boosting his Black magic power. Porom can Cry, making it easier to flee a battle. They still have their Twin magic, but it takes a VERY long time to get the spell off. Much too long for my taste...

10. Finally, which of the following things are not new features of "Final Fantasy 4 Advance"?

Answer: All of these are new features

All of this is waiting for you! The dialogue lets you delve deeper into the character's minds and motives. The Bestiary gives you great insight into improving your battle strategy assuming you survive the initial battle. New items... not a fan, as your item screen is still limited. But since Remedy potions are 5000 gil each, you'll have to stock up on Antidotes, Echo Herbs, Gold Needles, Maiden's Kiss, Crosses, Diet Food, Mallets, and Alarm Clocks early on in case your Esuna users go down.
