Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these foodstuffs could you NOT sell in your park?

Answer: Chips/crisps

Yes, tentacles are a foodstuffs, and they are sold in the octopus-shaped Sea Food Stall. They are never quite popular, though. Funnel cake and iced tea can be sold with a Funnel Cake Shop and Iced Tea Stall, respectively. There are no chip or crisp stalls, though- and who wants riders' greasy chip-covered hands on their rides anyway?
2. Match the description to the scenario: An abandoned factory complex is turned into an amusement park with great opportunity for mechanical-themed attractions. This beginner park requires 1100 guests by year 3 with a park rating of at least 600.

Answer: Factory Capers

Though the land you own as part of this park is in quite an awkward shape, you own construction rights in a large area on one side of your park, which allows building there. The scenario comes with mechanical theming complete with cogwheels, pipes, and other such bits and bobs.
3. The "Build your own Six Flags Park" scenario is perhaps one of the most versatile in a number of ways. Unlike in many other scenarios, what is the maximum loan you can take out?

Answer: $100,000

While most other scenarios have loan limits of perhaps $10,000 or $20,000, the "Build your own Six Flags Park" allows for a whopping $100,000 loan. It is also a very large, almost completely flat map with a small lake in the center and nothing more than some paths by the entrance existing when you start the game.

The lack of any challenges or obstacles here can make it a boring game quickly, but it can also be a good scenario to open if you want to experiment with, say, building your own roller coaster and saving it with its surrounding scenery. You can even let guests ride it to see how they like it.
4. Which of these rides would you NOT find listed under the Thrill Rides section?

Answer: Canoes

Some rides are listed under more than one category, as evidenced by a number of water rides including Splash Boats, Jet Skis, River Rapids, and Bumper Boats, which are listed as both Water Rides and Thrill Rides. Canoes, however, are only found under Water Rides and Gentle Rides, along with Swans, Rowing boats, and Water Tricycles.
5. Match the description to the scenario: A sandy golf resort turned theme park consists of a small number of rides situated on two sides of a highway intersection, with the possibility of buying land on the other two sides. Construction rights over the highway itself allow the player to join the sections of park.

Answer: Dusty Greens

The scenario includes wild west theming and initially comes with two different golf course rides. These take a very long time for the ride-goers to complete, though, and they are not profitable. It might be worth it to demolish at least one, if not both.
6. In which climate, so to speak, is the Bumbly Bazaar scenario set?

Answer: Desert/sandy

The Bumbly Bazaar map is almost entirely covered with sand, with a curvy river meandering through from side to side and leaving traces of grass along its banks. There are also a few sparse cactuses on the map and Egyptian themed objects, such as the walls and lamp posts, being used.
7. Which of these scenarios could you really play in "Roller Coaster Tycoon 2"?

Answer: Panda World

Panda World is a tiny park consisting of just one panda-themed roller coaster, "Pandamonium", to which you must attract 1500 guests while maintaining a park rating of at least 700. The scenario comes with panda theming which includes bamboo shoots, panda litter bins, and of course, giant pandas.
8. Among a number of different costumes your hired entertainers can wear, which is NOT one of them?

Answer: Mickey Mouse

This isn't Disneyland after all! A fun complement to the bandit costume is the sheriff costume, and the two are always available together. There are also knight, Roman, tiger, and astronaut costumes, among others. Not all costumes are available to use all the time.
9. Which of these scenarios consists of a lake on the map at the start of the game?

Answer: Alpine Adventures

Botany Breakers is set on an island and while it is surrounded with a lot of crystal blue water, there is no lake to be found on the park land itself.

The Ghost Town scenario is set in the midst of some sandy mountains and flatland with the apparent remnants of a river flowing through which has since dried up.

The Rainbow Valley scenario features a hilly landscape covered with trees and a small river meandering through. Part of this scenario's difficulty is the inability to remove large trees or make any landscape changes. This can be quite a challenge, but consider building a custom roller coaster at the very start, contoured to the land, to get things going.

The snow-covered Alpine Adventures scenario consists of a number of large mountains with just room enough for an icy lake and a smaller body of water nearby. Brrrr!
10. Which of these scenarios would you NOT find listed under "Expert Parks"?

Answer: Crazy Castle

Crazy Castle is a beginner scenario with the simple task of converting a castle into a functioning theme park. Like its other two beginner park counterparts, it is free of the challenges found in the expert scenarios, such as limited space or pesky mountains.
