Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these is NOT a color which a team (VS Mode) can be assigned to?

Answer: Yellow

If you wonder why there are not more than three team colors, every VS Game consists out of max. four players. It would be useless to assign every player to a different team, because you could just play 'Free for All' instead.
2. On stage number what do you battle Master Hand (1-player Mode)? (Count the three bonus stages 'Break the targets, ...')

Answer: Fourteen

The first stage is the battle with Link, the second stage the battle against a team of 18 Yoshis. The third stage lets you fight against Fox, then comes the 'Break the Targets' bonus stage (the fourth one). The fifth stage is against the Mario Bros., the sixth one against Pikachu, in the seventh stage you fight against a huge Donkey Kong.

Then comes the 'Board the platforms' bonus stage (would be the eight one). After that you fight a Kirby-Team (9), Samus (10), Metal Mario (11), then you are at the bonus stage 'Race to the finish' (12), then comes the Fighting Polygon Team (13) and then the Master Hand (14).
3. What do you see in the ending picture of Link (1-player Mode)? (The picture after the credits!)

Answer: Link leaning against Hyrule Castle

There is a different ending pic for every character. At that point the narrator (I'm calling that speaker 'narrator') says 'Congratulations!', but if you managed to get over a million points, he says 'Incredible!'.
4. What does the flag that Mario has in his hand in his ending pic say?

Answer: 'No. 1'

It says 'No. 1', even if you beat the game with the lowest score possible (yeah... those pictures are not changed by your amount of points). It says 'Smaaaaaash!' (I never counted how many 'a's there were) in Luigi's ending pic, where he smashes Mario on the head.
5. Does the damage meter affect the height you reach when hit by the final strike of the 'Mario Cyclone' (Mario's Down-B move)?

Answer: No

Try hitting an opponent with 0% damage and then one with 100% damage with this move. You will see that the enemy will rise up the same height.
6. How do you get rid of the special B-Power after Kirby inhaled an enemy and spit him out with B?

Answer: Do the taunt move (L)

When you inhale an enemy with Kirby, you can gain the enemy's B ability by pressing B. Pressing A will spit him out and Kirby won't get any ability. Depending on the character he got the ability the top of Kirby's head will look different (ex. a Mario hat with the Fireball ability or a helmet with Samus' Charge Beam ability).
7. What happens when Jigglypuff's shield (Z) breaks?

Answer: Jigglypuff shoots into the air

Sorry for those who answered 'Jigglypuff loses a life immediately', but this is not always true, for example, when you stand under an obstacle (ex. Hyrule Castle), and she doesn't really lose the life 'immediately', but after a few seconds. This happens, because she is the lightest character in the game. (Here's a small hint for you, as Jigglypuff never use the shield when an enemy is near who has the weapon 'Fan', because it breaks shields very easily.)
8. What can Ness' Up-B special move PK Thunder do? (Recover = help to get back to stage)

Answer: Deal damage and recover

Ness' recovery move (Up-B) helps more than some other recovery moves from different characters. The bad thing about this recovery move is, that the thunder-ball can easily crash into an obstacle or object (ex. Pokemon stage). Ness' Down-B special move can lower the damage meter, for that only some kind of projectile (ex. Samus' Charge Beam, Ray Gun, Fire Flower, ...) needs to hit him while doing that move.
9. What effect can you compare Mario's taunt move (L) with?

Answer: Mega Mushroom

Mario's taunt move lets him grow to a bigger size, but it's no use to him, because he can't move anyways. After some seconds Mario shrinks back to his original size (you can skip the shrinking process by pressing the 'shield' (Z) button).
10. Up to how many items on the screen can you create in Training Mode?

Answer: Four

Not really much, eh? In the sequel 'Super Smash Bros Melee' you can have up to over ten items on the screen, but this game is stubborn and only allows four... Anyways, Training Mode is a certain mode in 'Super Smash Bros' which lets you try out all the attacks of each character on an opponent you choose. Combos are counted (and damage inflicted), you can zoom up to your char, change the speed, create items (just four, as specified), and some other nifty things...
