She was built from 1965-1968 by John Brown and Upper Clyde Shipbuilders Limited, Clydebank Scotland and was still sailing in the 21st Century.

She was actually built in Helsinki, Finland and was sent to Southampton, England for her christening by the Princess of Wales, Diana.
