Its rare for me to cry, but there are two songs that get me everytime.

Caught In The Crowd - Kate Miller Heidke. A song about bullying and its effect.

Sorry - Maria Mena. An almost perfect description of my reaction the first time my heart was broken.

The Dance, I think by Garth Brooks. I lost my husband 18 years ago and it is so true, I wouldn't have changed anything because I would have missed my time with him.

House Where Nobody Lives by Tom Waits... though I'd have to be awfully drunk for it to actually make me cry.

He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones is another one.

I agree with the prior mention of Eminem, too. "I'm Not Afraid" tears me up because he has overcome flaws in himself. "I'm Not Afraid" is about that. Unlike say a guy named Charlie S. who isn't going to).

Joe Cocker's heart seems to swell up and right into a song. That guy understands heartbreak (As we can see on his face, I think).

Bruce Springsteen has a team of two songs about brothers. One is a policeman, the other a criminal. The policeman has tried to shield his brother from jail all his life. In these songs the cop chases the criminal to the state line, to arrest him this time. You know the name or CD? Those are killer songs for tearing up.

I found it. The CD is Springsteen's "Nebraska" and the song is 'The Highway Patrolman' You may not know that album unless you are ancient. The song is heartbreaking. How even your love cannot change someone unless they want to change.

I found it on VivoScene? Where they do feature articles on music. But no one is given a byline? No idea who wrote the really excellent article about the album. S/he does say the album reminds him of Dylan's stuff. And that Johnny Cash covered 'The Highway Patrolman' I'll see if that version makes me cry!

Some songs make me cry because they were the last one the singer ever sang. One of these is "Teisel pool vett" (On The Other Side Of The Water) by Urmas Alender. He died when The Estonia sank. The song is sad enough but added that Urmas was singing it as the ship was sinking - it's heartbreaking. The song can be listened here:

Having not read through all 14 pages, mine is "Leader of the Band" by Dan Fogelberg. It will only get worse as my dad is now 86, and it is hard to not relate the final verse to him.
