"In The Background" by Third Eye Blind. It DOES make me cry, everytime I hear it. It has special meaning to me. This song takes me back to 2005, which was a very bad, heartbreaking & confusing year for me. As sad as this song is, it really pulled me through that rough time in my life. The song that always makes me want to cry is mike and The Mechanics, In the living years: This is because my dad died when my sister had just found out she was pregnant. In the lines at one point is says 'But I think I caught his spirit later that same year sure I heard his echo in my baby's new born tears.' A recent song that really moved me is "Fourth of July" by Sufjan Stevens. He's made a lot of really moving songs in the past, but almost none of the songs he's made compare to anything on his newest album ("Carrie & Lowell") in terms of emotional devastation, and "Fourth of July" is the most emotional. Actually cannot recommend this album enough. Also, a lot of Mountain Goats have moved me, mostly because they came at just the right time in my life. "Never Quite Free", "This Year" "Amy", "Absolute Lithops Effect" and "Up the Wolves" come to mind. John Darnielle is an incredible lyricist. Reply #373. May 29 15, 10:04 AM |
