Joseph Lockard "Lock" Martin Jr. (1916-1959) suffered from gigantism and at 2.31m (7',7") was one of the tallest actors known. Because of his height, he was selected as Gort in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951).

There is some discrepancy about his actual height. The value provided here is that from Wikipedia.
