Like our previous Globetrot Trivia Challenges, we will be stopping off at fifteen different locations and go exploring with quizzes inspired by the destinations selected. This trip should stretch participants to several new destinations. We have a few repeat countries, but completely different spots within them just to mix things up.
A destination will be posted here on this thread. Sometimes that destination will be very specific and sometimes it will be very vague, but either way, we’ll need to have two quizzes queued up before we move on to the next location. When those quizzes are queued, the next one will show. You can, of course, write for any listed destination, even if we move on from it, until the challenge is closed (usually a couple months after we reach the end.
So if we use an example: ‘The Eiffel Tower, Paris'. This means we need to queue two quizzes— anyone can submit them— before we continue on. The quizzes can be about the tower or about World's Fairs or about steel structures or Parisian landmarks or Paris itself or Gustave Eiffel, etc. As long as you can justifiably link the quiz's subject matter/content to the locations, it’s good! I would like to encourage authors to think outside the box. Use these prompts as an opportunity to spread yourself to parts of the site you may never have thought of before. Since players will be looking at these quizzes from a different angle in the future, it will be very helpful to avoid repetition!
Once we make our trip around the world, we’ll return to our starting location in some way. Last time, we started in Mexico and ended the route in Mexico again.
All you need to do is post when your quiz is submitted, and when there’s two we’ll move along. The quiz doesn't even need to be online yet! Think of it as a teaser for the players. ;)
Oh yeah-- and all quizzes submitted for the Globetrot challenges will play a strong part in a future game for the site. Just to put that out there. So the more, the better!

We've gotten to the Seoul of the matter-- finally-- and we can look ahead to our tenth destination with, perhaps, a bit of trepidation. While we are staying in Korea, we're going to tread lightly and visit the Korean DMZ. Stretching across the Korean Peninsula and splitting North and South Korea, this region has a dark history and serves as a site of both diplomatic action and periodic conflict. Reply #107. It looks like a quiz on the DMZ has been needed for months to reveal the next stop. So, last week I went ahead and started fleshing out a DMZ quiz and am about half done. However, I then started to wonder if that might be what a few of you are also doing. I don't want to step on any toes and steal anyone's thunder. My quiz could probably morph into a history of Korea if needed. So far it is focused on the "why" leading up to the DMZ rather than the "what" the DMZ is. Anyway, if one of you is working on the DMZ please let me know and I will work on something else until after I see your quiz. I can then figure out what I can do to have mine coexist with yours or see what needs to be tweaked so it is different. I am only 4 questions in so no big deal if I can't use them. I've already really enjoyed all I have learned about Korea so far so regardless that is a huge win for me. Go for it, BTD. Those of us who are lagging may be inspired by seeing a new destination come into view. I am trying to complete all stops, as I have done for the first three tours, but others dip in when they see something that grabs their attention, so all contributions move us forward.
