Like our previous Globetrot Trivia Challenges, we will be stopping off at fifteen different locations and go exploring with quizzes inspired by the destinations selected. This trip should stretch participants to several new destinations. We have a few repeat countries, but completely different spots within them just to mix things up.
A destination will be posted here on this thread. Sometimes that destination will be very specific and sometimes it will be very vague, but either way, we’ll need to have two quizzes queued up before we move on to the next location. When those quizzes are queued, the next one will show. You can, of course, write for any listed destination, even if we move on from it, until the challenge is closed (usually a couple months after we reach the end.
So if we use an example: ‘The Eiffel Tower, Paris'. This means we need to queue two quizzes— anyone can submit them— before we continue on. The quizzes can be about the tower or about World's Fairs or about steel structures or Parisian landmarks or Paris itself or Gustave Eiffel, etc. As long as you can justifiably link the quiz's subject matter/content to the locations, it’s good! I would like to encourage authors to think outside the box. Use these prompts as an opportunity to spread yourself to parts of the site you may never have thought of before. Since players will be looking at these quizzes from a different angle in the future, it will be very helpful to avoid repetition!
Once we make our trip around the world, we’ll return to our starting location in some way. Last time, we started in Mexico and ended the route in Mexico again.
All you need to do is post when your quiz is submitted, and when there’s two we’ll move along. The quiz doesn't even need to be online yet! Think of it as a teaser for the players. ;)
Oh yeah-- and all quizzes submitted for the Globetrot challenges will play a strong part in a future game for the site. Just to put that out there. So the more, the better!

We certainly will see a new destination, and it's a fair jaunt south to Australia! Our long-awaited next destination is the city of Brisbane on the continent's eastern coast. I had fun writing the DMZ quiz and I learned a TON. I am probably not alone with the minor frustration of lower ranks for harder to write quizzes. Seems crazy that the most superficial quiz I have written (and easiest) is my highest ranked and the few I spend 20 plus hours on are middle of the road average. I really don't care all that much about sunglasses but rather don't want a well written quiz at the bottom of the pile where no one will see it or play it. No doubt I am beating the horse that died almost 20 years ago (sorry). It certainly won't stop me from writing the more substantive quizzes. They are the ones I enjoy playing. Australia huh? My heart goes out to the folks down under. It is depressing looking at a map that shows where the fires are currently raging. It is not just the south eastern corner but much of the island. At this point in time, there are literal oodles of quizzes on the site, so the fight is a tough one, especially until new quizzes get a certain amount of players. The more a quiz is played, the much better gauge one will have in determining where their quiz really ranks. I've said for a long time that the best approach is not to let it weigh on you. There's no shortage of things to see in the Land Down Under, so we're going to extend our stay in Australia with a trip to Far North Queensland. Home to the city of Cairns, this reach of the country is also the site of the Great Barrier Reef and the Torres Strait. We make our twelfth stop here before we move along to a new continent. Two quizzes online in Queensland makes our trip to Australia come to an end (except for any of us who still wish to write there). In the meantime, the itinerary is taking us across the Pacific as we fly to the city of Phoenix, the capital of the U.S. state of Arizona and one of the largest cities in the country.
