Grab your passports!
Like our previous Globetrot Trivia Challenges, we will be stopping off at fifteen different locations and go exploring with quizzes inspired by the destinations selected. This trip should stretch participants to several new destinations. We have a few repeat countries, but completely different spots within them just to mix things up.
A destination will be posted here on this thread. Sometimes that destination will be very specific and sometimes it will be very vague, but either way, we’ll need to have two quizzes queued up before we move on to the next location. When those quizzes are queued, the next one will show. You can, of course, write for any listed destination, even if we move on from it, until the challenge is closed (usually a couple months after we reach the end.
So if we use an example: ‘The Eiffel Tower, Paris'. This means we need to queue two quizzes— anyone can submit them— before we continue on. The quizzes can be about the tower or about World's Fairs or about steel structures or Parisian landmarks or Paris itself or Gustave Eiffel, etc. As long as you can justifiably link the quiz's subject matter/content to the locations, it’s good! I would like to encourage authors to think outside the box. Use these prompts as an opportunity to spread yourself to parts of the site you may never have thought of before. Since players will be looking at these quizzes from a different angle in the future, it will be very helpful to avoid repetition!
Once we make our trip around the world, we’ll return to our starting location in some way. Last time, we started in Mexico and ended the route in Mexico again.
All you need to do is post when your quiz is submitted, and when there’s two we’ll move along. The quiz doesn't even need to be online yet! Think of it as a teaser for the players. ;)
Oh yeah-- and all quizzes submitted for the Globetrot challenges will play a strong part in a future game for the site. Just to put that out there. So the more, the better!

And with that we head to the penultimate destination on the itinerary: St. John's, Newfoundland. This capital city of Canada's easternmost province sits on the Atlantic Ocean. It's windy, often cold, and situated on a rocky bay, and while you may think it's a weirdly inhospitable port, it's a historical treasure trove. And then it's a hop across the Atlantic to our final destination; we're bringing our globetrotting trip full circle by returning to Italy. There were no flights to Lombardy, but it turns out airfare is cheap to Venice. For this final stop we're going to take a gondola down the Grand Canal, and if you want to submit a quiz for this destination you're free to float around all things Venetian. Reply #147.
