At the beginning of the movie, we see a classroom in which kids are giving presentations on Franklin D. Roosevelt. The first kid we see is a red-haired, white girl named Annie. This is presumably meant to be a red herring, fooling us into thinking that girl would be the main character because in previous Annie movies, she was always a white girl with red hair. After she is done, the teacher says "Annie B." you are next, and introduces us to the actual main character, and African American girl with black hair. She gets the class involved in her presentation and says that the 1930s were "Just like now, without the internet."

Answer: Sandy takes corn from her and gives it back

In the 1999 movie, Annie escapes the orphanage by hiding in a laundry bin. Mr. Bundles takes it out not knowing that Annie is inside. Although Annie escaped Miss Hannigan, this meant that she was homeless. Since she had no money, she decided to steal some corn. However, then Sandy stole the corn. However, Sandy brought it back. Annie felt bad for Sandy, so she befriends the dog and sings "Tomorrow."

"Maybe" is a ballad of optimism at the beginning of all the movies. Annie believes that her parents are still alive, and will one day return for her. In "Maybe," she sings about what she thinks her parents are like. One of the things she believes they do is "collect things like ashtrays and art." In the 2014 movie, as soon as the fake parents tell her that they don't collect those things, that's when she learns that they are not her real parents. Aileen Quinn, the actress who played the title character in the 1982 movie, said this was her favorite song in the movie.

The orphanage was located in a poverty stricken area of New York City. This was clear when Grace pulled up to the entrance of the orphanage. The people were all down-trodden and dirty. They were in awe of the car and of Grace.

Once inside the orphanage, it was clear to Grace that it was in dire need of repairs and renovations. The light fixtures were just exposed light bulbs that hung from electrical cords. The windows had tape on them to cover the cracks in the glass. The rear window in Ms. Haninigan's office appeared as if a ball had been thrown through it. Also quite evident was that Ms. Hannigan was not a very good caretaker of the young orphaned girls. She woke them up in the middle of the night to clean the orphanage. She would often blow a whistle at the orphans to get their chores done quicker. She was also an alcoholic who was rarely without a drink in her hand.

In the end of the movie, Annie wears a beautiful red dress. The dress was designed by Theoni V. Aldredge, who won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design for her work on the film. The dress was specifically chosen to contrast with the blue and white color scheme of Daddy Warbucks' mansion, making Annie stand out as the center of attention. The dress has become an iconic piece of movie history and is often referenced in pop culture.

However, her parents never return for her and we never find out what happened to them.

"N.Y.C." is a song that Daddy Warbucks and Grace sing to Annie after they learn that she has never been allowed to leave the orphanage and has never seen much of New York City. Grace and Daddy Warbucks decide to take Annie to Radio City Music Hall for a movie, and Daddy Warbucks ultimately decides that they will walk there, so they can show Annie what New York City has to offer as they sing this song. The line: "No other town in the whole forty-eight can half compare to you" reminds us that this takes place during the Great Depression, when the United States only had 48 states. It also lets us know that Daddy Warbucks sees New York City as a town while everyone else thinks of it as a city (That is what the "C" stands for).

This song is in the Broadway musical, but the only movie that it appears in is the 1999 one. In the 1982 one, this is removed and replaced with "Let's Go to the Movies." In the 2014 one, this is removed and replaced with "The City's Yours." All the songs basically serve the same purpose, though. They're all about showing Annie things that she hadn't been allowed to see.

After she chased all the boys away, she untied the cans from the tail of the dog. He followed Annie after she left the alley. It was clear to the dog now belonged to Annie.

Annie and the dog were both spotted by the local dog catcher. The dog catcher put a rope around the dog's neck and tried to take him away. Annie asked what he was doing to her dog. She told the man that her father used the dog to get to work. The man then asked Annie what was his name. Annie looked at the dog catcher and asked why he wanted her father's name. The dog catcher said he wanted the dog's name. Annie along with several of the people who had surrounded her were yelling out names to get the dog to come to her. Finally Annie yelled out Sandy and the dog came to her. The dog catcher released the dog to Annie.

Annie's last name on her birth certificate is Mudge. In the movie, Annie is an orphan who is adopted by a wealthy businessman named Oliver Warbucks. The story is set during the Great Depression and follows Annie's journey as she tries to find her real parents. Interestingly, the character of Annie has been played by many actresses over the years, including Aileen Quinn in the 1982 movie adaptation and Quvenzhané Wallis in the 2014 remake. The character has also been portrayed in various stage productions and television adaptations.

This is ironic, because the 2014 movie is often referred to as "Black Annie" due to the title character and the man who adopts her being African American only in that version of Annie. However, Grace is still white in that version. The only version of Annie that has an African American Grace (of the three mentioned in the intro) is the 1999 one. The 1999 version of Grace is portrayed by Audra McDonald. She has an amazing singing voice that she shows off multiple times. Notably, when Mr. Warbucks thinks he has found Annie's parents and Annie doesn't want to leave Daddy Warbucks for them, Grace sings "Maybe" and "Tomorrow" for her to cheer her up. When Audra McDonald shows off her singing voice, it's easy to understand why she got the role of Grace even though this takes place during a time when African American women didn't usually hold high positions in the United States.

"And what's that bathtub tune you always ba-ba-boo" "Ba-ba-ba anything but you!" Apparently Annie and Daddy Warbucks are so happy together, it doesn't matter if they are saying real words. This song comes near the end of the musical and all the movies, after Annie and Daddy Warbucks have become so happy that Daddy Warbucks wants to adopt Annie and she wants to be adopted by him. She doesn't even want her real parents to come back for her anymore.
