Manaus, on the Amazon, is a busy port with a population of over a million. Until recently it was only accessible by water or by air. Now a road has been built. Many world famous singers have performed at the Opera House, which was built in the late nineteenth century.
Brasilia, Brazil's capital, is a modern city and nowhere near the Amazon.
