Lido is an Italian word that means beach. It can also refer to a facility where a pool and supporting facilities are available on land or on a ship. If you want to swim during your cruise, the Lido Deck is a good place to be.

Fruit that is ready to eat can be described as "ripe for the picking". If that fruit is unripe, it may still be green (literally and figuratively) and not ready to eat. If the fruit is overripe, it may be turning unappealing colors and not safe to eat.

In the morning you may be told to "rise and shine". A good response would be to get out of bed and be ready to face the day. Rise itself means to move to a higher level. We say "the sun rises" when it looks like the sun is higher in the sky than before when really it is the earth rotating to face the sun.

The game of "Risk" was invented in 1957 and is currently published by Hasbro. In the game you use dice to move small pieces representing armies from one territory to another in your attempt to "conquer" the world. If your roll is bad, you may lose armies or territories. I guess it's true that where there's no risk, there's no reward.
