1. Richard Rodgers

Answer: Emmy

Richard Rodgers was a composer primarily associated with Lorenzo Hart and then Oscar Hammerstein II. He won the Oscar in 1946 for Best Song with "It Might as Well Be Spring" for the movie musical "State Fair". He won six Tony Awards during his career, including Best Musical for "South Pacific" in 1950, as well as receiving three more special Tony Awards that were non-competitive.

He won two Grammy Awards, one in 1960 for Best Show Album "The Sound of Music" and the other in 1962 for Best Original Cast Album "No Strings".

In 1962, sixteen after he received his first in the EGOT collection, he received his last, the Emmy, Award for Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composed for "Winston Churchill: The Valliant Years". He was a few months shy of turning sixty when he became the first EGOT in history.
2. Rita Moreno

Rita Moreno is an actress, singer, and dancer. She won her first award from the set, the Oscar, in 1962 for portraying Anita in the movie "West Side Story".

In 1972, she won the Grammy Award for Best Recording for Children for "The Electric Company".

She won a Tony Award in 1975 for Best Featured Actress in a Play for "The Ritz".

She won her first Emmy Award in 1977 for Outstanding Continuing or Single Performance by a Supporting Actress in Variety or Music for "The Muppet Show".

At a little under 46 years old, Rita Morena had become the third person to become an EGOT and the first person of Hispanic ethnicity to do so.
3. Audrey Hepburn

In 1954, Audrey Hepburn won an Oscar and a Tony. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Princess Ann in "Roman Holiday". She won the Tony Award for Distinguished Dramatic Actress for portraying Ondine in the Broadway play of the same name.

She won the 1993 Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement, Informational Programming for "Gardens of the World with Audrey Hepburn". In 1994, she won the Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for "Audrey Hepburn's Enchanted Tales".

Hepburn, who died in January 1993, became the first to become an EGOT posthumously.
4. Jonathan Tunick

Jonathan Tunick is an orchestrator, musical director, and composer. The first award he won was the Oscar 1977 for Best Original Song Score and Its Adaptation Score for the film score, for "A Little Night Music".

In 1982, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction for "Night of 100 Stars".

In 1988, he won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocals for "No One Is Alone" (vocals by Cleo Laine).

He won his last award, the Tony, twenty years later, in 1997, for Best Orchestration for "Titanic".
5. Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks is an actor, director, writer, producer, and comedian, to name a few things this brilliant man can do. Brooks won his first award, the Emmy, in 1967 for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Variety for "The Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, Carl Reiner, Howard Morris Special".

In 2001, it was "The Producer", which won his final award to make him an EGOT, the Tony. This time the awards were for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score. Incidentally, it was also "The Producers" that won him the 1969 Oscar as well, as he made the movie long before the Broadway show.

His 1998 Grammy for Best Spoken Comedy Album was for "The 2000 Year Old Man."
6. Scott Rudin

Scott Rudin is a producer. He won his first award in 1984, the Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program for "He Makes Me Feel Like Dancin'".

In 1994 he won his first Tony Award for Best Musical for "Passion".

In 2008 he won an Oscar for Best Picture for "No Country for Old Men".

He won his final award, the Grammy, in 2012 for Best Musical Theatre Album for "The Book of Mormon: Original Broadway Cast Recording".
7. Robert Lopez

Robert Lopez is a songwriter. He won his first award in 2004, the Tony Award, for Best Original Score for "Avenue Q".

In 2008, he won an Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for "Wonder Pets!".

In 2012, he won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album for "The Book of Mormon: Original Broadway Cast Recording".

He won his final award, the Oscar, in 2014 for Best Original Song for "Let It Go" from "Frozen".

Between 2004-2021 he won 11 awards, with multiples in every category. He is the first person of Asian and Filipino descent to do so.
8. Andrew Lloyd Webber

Andrew Lloyd Webber is (in my opinion, the greatest) a composer. He won his first awards, the Grammy and the Tony, for "Evita" in 1980.

In 1997, he won the Oscar for Best Original Song for the film adaptation "Evita," for Best Original Song with "You Must Love Me".

He finally won the Emmy, making him an EGOT, 38 years later, in 2018, for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert".
9. James Earl Jones

Answer: Oscar

James Earl Jones is considered a non-competitive EGOT. That is, at least one of the four awards was not won in a competitive category but was given to him on a special basis.

He won his first award, the Tony for Best Leading Actor in a Play for "The Great White Hope" in 1969.

In 1977, he won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Recording for "Great American Documents".

He won two different Emmy Awards in 1991. One was for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for "Gabriel's Fire". The other was for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Miniseries or Movie for "Heat Wave".

In 2011, he received his final award needed to be an EGOT, an Academy Honorary Award Oscar. He won it "for his legacy of consistent excellence and uncommon versatility."
10. Viola Davis

Viola Davis won her first award, the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Play for "King Hedley II".

In 2015, she won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for "How to Get Away With Murder".

In 2017, she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for "Fences."

In 2023, she became the 18th EGOT when she won the Grammy Award for Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording for "Finding Me".
