1. SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando, in Orlando, Florida, opened in December of 1973 as a marine life park that also combined entertainment, animal exhibits, and education about wildlife conservation. It quickly became famous for its killer whale shows, especially Shamu, whose performances were practically a symbol of the park. As years went by, the orcas featured less in shows and more in exhibits where people could learn about them. The park also, over time, has featured dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and much more.

Over the years, it also began adding thrill rides to the adventure. Journey to Atlantis opened in 1998 and was a water coaster through a mystical underwater realm. The Kraken, in 2000, was a huge, looping floorless roller coaster. Manta, in 2009, was a flying coaster where people "glided" face-down like a ray. Icebreaker opened in 2022 and was inspired by the Arctic.
2. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom

This park, which opened in Zhuhai, China, in March of 2014, has been described as the "SeaWorld and Disney of China combined". It blends huge aquariums, animal encounters, and major amusement rides. The park become renowned for its enormous whale shark exhibit, which opened with one of the world's largest aquarium tanks and viewing windows. They also have showcased beluga whales, dolphins, penguins, polar bears, sea turtles, and thousands of fish species.

Their major attractions through the years have included rides such as the Parrot Coaster, a high speed wing coaster that opened in 2014 and was the first of its kind in Asia. (Even the Youtube video made me nervous). That same year Walrus Splash gave visitors a huge water ride. In 2015, a massive 5D theater opened which gave viewers a total immersive movie experience.
3. Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise

Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise opened in May of 1993 on an artificial island in Yokohama Bay, Japan, and combined huge aquariums, animal exhibits, shopping, amusement park rides, and hotels all in one place. The park became known for its beluga whales, dolphins, pilot whales, sunfish, and jellyfish exhibits. One of its most famous experiences was walking through a tunnel while dolphins played and swam overhead.

In 1993, the Surf Coast Leviathan opened, which is a huge roller coaster that races partly out over the ocean to give stunning views. If a visitor wants a calmer way to catch the view, the Sea Paradise Tower opened that same year which is a rotating observation area. Also that year, Aqua Ride II offered people a whitewater rapids adventure that was themed around treasure hunting.
4. uShaka Marine World

The uShaka Marine World opened in April of 2004 in Durban, South Africa. Visitors enter much of the aquarium through a recreated wreck of an old cargo ship, giving the feeling of exploring an underwater wreck that is teeming with animals. The tanks hold a variety of animals such as sharks, dolphins, penguins, rays, turtles, and tons of fish species.

The water park part of the area added thrill rides to the whole experience. The Wet 'n Wild, which opened in 2004 also, gave riders speed water slides, tube races, and a lazy river on which to float. The Drop Zone slide, from 2006, was one of the tallest water slides in all of Africa. In 2008, the Boomerango was added, which was a giant raft ride where rides shoot up a steep wall before sliding quickly backwards.
5. L'Oceanografic

L'Oceanografic opened on Valentine's Day in 2003 in Valencia, Spain. It was added as part of the city's futuristic City of Arts and Sciences complex. Upon opening, it boasted more than 500 species across 45,000 animals spread across various marine habitats. It highlighted sharks, beluga whales, dolphins, rays, and sea turtles as well as reptiles and birds.

One of its attractions, the Underwater Shark Tunnel, which opened in 2003, allowed visitors to walk through the exhibit as sharks proweled overhead. The 4D Cinema, which opened in 2017, became notable for being one of the largest theaters of its kind in Spain, with motion seats and special effects such as wind and water sprays synchonized to the film. In 2025, VR (virtual reality) was added to the experience so people truly feel as if they are experiencing rides in different ecosystems.
6. Sea World Australia

SeaWorld Australia opened in 1971 on Australia's Gold Coast. It was originally famous for its water-ski shows and dolphin performances, but later expanded into a major theme park with multiple thrill rides. It also grew a reputation as a place to go to for animal rescue and rehabilitation. Its animals, over time, have included dolphins, polar bears, seals, sea lions, jellyfish and many more examples of marine life.

When it opened it featured the Viking's Revenge Flume ride, which was tremendously popular until it closed in 2016. In 2008, the Jet Rescue opened, which was a roller coaster designed to look like a series of jet skis chasing each other. The Storm Coaster, starting in 2013, combines roller coater and water elements (such as a huge splash down). In 2022, the Leviathan re-introduced people to wooden roller coasters as the giant coaster takes them both forward and backward on its route.
7. Dolfinarium Harderwijk

Dolfinarium Harderwijk opened in 1965 in Harderwijk, Netherlands, and became one of Europe's largest marine parks. The park became renowned for its dolphin shows, walruses, harbor porpoises, sea lions, and for a time, its famous rescued orca named Morgan. A domed theater was added in the late 1960s. In 1997, they opened the Dolfijnendelta, which is a massive dolphin lagoon with underwater viewing.

The park also caters many amusement and water park rides to the younger visitors. The centerpiece is Waterpret which opened in 2018 and which is a splash area with water slides, spray features, shallow pools, and play structures. They also offer the Springtij, which is a cable ride in a zip-line style and a giant climbing tower themed like a ship to go along with the marine life living nearby.
8. Moskvarium

Moskvarium opened in August of 2015 on the famous VDNKh exhibition grounds in Moscow, Russia. It is often described as one of the largest oceanariums in all of Europe. It opened with around 80 tanks and thousands of marine animals and also introduced a water show that featured dolphins, belguas, and walruses. In 2016, they added dolphin encounters where people could get up and close and personal with the animals.

The exhibition grounds where it is situated offers a variety of amusement rides. Here was once the giant ferris wheel that was built for Moscow's 850th anniversary. After it was taken down, the Sun of Moscow, a huge observation wheel, took its place in 2022. Several roller coasters operate on the grounds and a cableway takes people over the area.
9. Mundo Marino

Mundo Marino opened in 1979 in San Clemente, Argentina, and offered up marine animal life and traditional rides. Animals featured here have included dolphins, orcas, sea lions, flamingos, sharks, sea turtles, and even hippos in some of the years. The park, since 1979, has offered shows with dolphins and sea lions. It is also well known for its extensive wildlife rescue work, having rehabilitated thousands of stranded marine animals over the years.

Visitors have always enjoyed the traditional ride of the La Tronchita train, which takes guests around various areas of the park. In the 1990s, the Noah's Ark attraction was added which showcases the coexistence of various animals. In the late 1990s, the Imagen Show theater was built with its huge screen and immersive experiene.
10. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California, actually combines a marine park, a zoo, and an amusement park all together. It traces its beginnings to Marine World Africa USA, which moved to Vallejo in 1986 and became part of Six Flags. It is known for its Dolphin Harbor which is home to the large collection of bottlenose dolphins and a shark experience, where people walk through tunnels beneath the animals.

In 2000, the Medusa was added which was the first floorless roller coaster on the US western coast, then just a year later The Flash showed up as an inverted vertical roller coaster. The Joker, a steel and wooden coaster, came along in 2016 followed by (following the theme) Batman in 2019 which is a 4D free spin coaster where riders flip head-over-heels.
