Cookies come in flavors like chocolate chip, oatmeal, and peanut butter. To make them, you mix ingredients such as flour, sugar, butter, and eggs, then add extras like chocolate chips or nuts. After shaping the dough into small pieces, you bake them until they are soft and chewy or crisp, depending on how long they stay in the oven.
Fascinating fact: The chocolate chip cookie was invented by accident when a baker ran out of regular chocolate and used chopped-up chocolate bars instead.
