A good game when travelling by train, boat, or car, or even just sitting in a room. One player picks an object in sight, then gives clues while the other players try to guess the object. Usually begins with "I spy with my little eye..." and one clue such as color. Additional clues can be given if the object isn't guessed.
2. Red Rover

A good game for a large group of players. Chose two teams, which form two lines facing each other with some space in between the lines. Taking turns, the members of a team hold outstretched hands and announces "Red Rover, Red Rover, send (name) over".
The person named from the other team runs across the open space and tries to break through the linked hands. If they do not break through, they join that team. If they do break through, they choose someone from that team to return with them to their team.
3. Hide and Seek

A player chosen as a Seeker closes their eyes and counts out loud to an agreed-on number while the other players hide. The Seeker then has to find the hiding players. There are many variations, such as requiring the Seeker to chase and tag those found, having players that are found become Seekers, etc.
4. Soccer

Called "football" in most of the world, soccer is a team sport. The challenge is that players cannot use their hands (except the goal defender) to move the ball, but they can use their feet, head, chest, etc. The objective is for each team to propel the ball into a goal area defended by the other team, while also defending their own goal area.
5. Catch

Players toss a ball back and forth. Just about any ball or similar object that can be easiliy thrown and caught can be used: pinecones, water balloons, wads of paper. Catch is a great game for improving hand-eye coordination.
6. Monkey in the Middle

One player stands in the middle while others pass the ball near them. The middle player tries to intercept the ball. If they do, the person who threw it becomes the "monkey" and the previous monkey gets to throw and catch the ball.
7. Four Square
Answer: Ball
Four players stand in a square, which can be drawn on the ground, marked by objects, or not marked at all. Players bounce a ball into each other's squares, trying to do so that the person in that square cannot return it; if they don't, the person bouncing it either gets a point, or the player who missed is out.
8. Dots and Boxes

Players draw a grid of dots on a piece of paper. Players then take turns connecting two dots. When a player completes a box, they claim that box. The player with the most boxes wins.
9. Tic-Tac-Toe

A classic strategy game for 2 players. Four lines are drawn to make a 3x3 grid. Players chose to be either "X" or "O" and take turns drawing their letter in a single box of the grid. The goal is to get three of your letters in row, either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
10. Hangman/Hanging Spider
Answer: Paper and Pencil
A player chooses a word and draws blank spaces on the paper, one for each letter. The other player guesses letters in the word; if they guess correctly, that letter is written in the correct spot. After each correct guess, the guesser can try to solve the whole word, and they win if they do. If incorrect, a part of the Man or Spider is drawn; if the Man or Spider is completed before the word is guessed, the guessing player loses.
