Charlemagne (748-814CE) was the King of the Franks and was considered to be first Holy Roman Emperor.
Alexander the Great (356-323BCE) was the King of the ancient country of Macedonia and conquered most of the known world of his time.
Joan of Arc (1412-1431CE) was a French peasant girl whose visions told her to lead the French to victory at Orleans in 1429CE during the Hundred Years War.
Richard the Lionhearted (1157-1199CE) was King of England from 1189-1199 and is most famous for his participation in the Third Crusade (1189-1192CE).
Henry VIII (1491-1547CE) was King of England from 1509-1547CE and was famous for his six wives and his break with the Roman Catholic Church over his divorce from his first wife.
Ivan the Terrible (1530-1584CE), also known as Ivan IV, was Prince of Moscow and became the first Russian ruler to have the title of Tsar. Ivan was known for his temper and killed his own son in 1581CE.
Genghis Khan (1162-1227CE) united the Mongol tribes and created the largest contiguous land empire that the world has ever seen.
Attila the Hun (406-453CE) was King of the Huns, a confederation of tribes from the Eurasian steppes that ravaged the Roman Empire from 434-453CE and carved out a large empire of their own in Eastern Europe.
Julius Caesar (100-44BCE) was a Roman general who conquered Gaul (modern day France and Belgium) and was then opposed by other members of the Roman Senate, where he was assassinated, leading to a civil war.
Moctezuma II (1466-1520CE) was the Emperor of the Aztecs when the Spanish, under Hernan Cortes, arrived and eventually conquered the country. Moctezuma was killed during a riot by his own people, who were revolting over the actions of the Spanish.
