Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Nutty Professor (1963)

Answer: Jerry Lewis

Jerry Lewis played Prof. Julius Kelp and Buddy Love. The movie was inspired by the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Jerry Lewis directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Bill Richmond. Julius Kelp is weak willed and neurotic. Buddy Love, by comparison, was charming, but narcissistic. A chemical formula allowed Kelp to transform into Love.
2. Spaceballs (1987)

Answer: Mel Brooks

Mel Brooks played Pres. Skroob and Yogurt. In addition to directing the movie, Mel Brooks was a co-producer and scriptwriter. Yogurt is a parody of the Yoda character that instructs Lone Star in using the Schwartz. There is no direct parallel to the character of Skroob. He is the leader of the planet of the Spaceballs. His most distinct characteristics are incompetency and lechery.
3. The Great Dictator (1940)

Answer: Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin played Adenoid Hynkel and a Jewish barber. Adenoids Hynkel was an expy for Adolf Hitler (the great dictator of the title). The character of the Jewish barber is not identified by name in the film.
4. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997)

Answer: Mike Myers

Mike Myers played Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. The movie is a parody of James Bond-style, spy films. Both characters were initially active in the 1960s and bring those attitudes forward to the 1990s. Austin Powers is a sexy and uber-effective spy for the British government. Dr. Evil (later identified as Austin's brother) is the creepy and odd head of a criminal organization.

In addition to starring in the film, Mike Myers also wrote the screenplay.
5. Mary Poppins (1964)

Answer: Dick Van Dyke

Dick Van Dyke played Bert and Mr. Dawes. Bert is a jack of all trades who at different times works as a street painter and a chimney sweep. 6. Dave (1993)

Answer: Kevin Kline

Kevin Kline played Dave Kovic and Pres. Bill Mitchell. Dave is the director of a temporary employment firm. He moonlights as Pres. Bill Mitchell, who he coincidentally resembles. 8. The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)

Answer: Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy played Pluto Nash and Rex Crater. The film was an infamous box office bomb, earning less than 10% of its initial investment back. Rex Crater is a criminal businessman and also Pluto Nash's clone.

Answer: Frank Morgan

Frank Morgan played Prof. Marvel and the Wizard of Oz, among other parts. Professor Marvel is a charlatan fortune-teller who Dorothy interacts with before she travels to Kansas.
