Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:
Released in June 2024, the sixth album by the English singer/songwriter Charli XCX, "Brat" became a worldwide phenomenon. After the more mainstream album "Crash" in 2022, Charli XCX moved to a more aggressive side for her music, drawing on rave culture. She worked with multiple collaborators, including longtime co-producer A. G. Cook and Finn Keane. "Brat" was the best reviewed album of the year, with "universal acclaim" on "Metacritic", topped year end ratings for publications such as "NME", "Rolling Stone", and "The Washington Post", and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
Its aesthetic - the album artwork eschewed an artist picture, and instead used the word "brat" against a deliberately offensive green color - was appropriated by politicians on both sides of the Atlantic during what became known as "Brat Summer". "Collins English Dictionary" named "Brat" as its word of the year.
"Von Dutch", the first single from the album, was released in March 2024. The video of the second single, "360" showed Charli with a gathering of "It" girls, including Julia Fox, and Chloë Sevigny.
In October 2024 Charli released an album of "Brat" remixes and collaborations with the likes of Lorde, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish, called "Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat" to further acclaim.
Charli XCX was born Charlotte Emma Aitchison in Cambridge, England, in 1992. Her first album, "True Romance", was released in 2013. She has supported acts including Coldplay and Taylor Swift.
The five wrong answers are from Billie Eilish's 2024 album "Hit Me Hard and Soft".
