Janet Jackson is the ninth child in the musical Jackson family that included Michael Jackson. The oldest child, Rebbie Jackson, was born in 1950 and Janet was born in 1966. Janet Jackson's 1989 album, "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 " put a record seven songs into the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Let's look at the songs listed:
In 1986, Janet went to Minneapolis and recorded the album, "Control". The album was produced by the team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, formerly of The Time. The album's title track and "Nasty" were both huge hits on MTV and told the world that Janet was no longer just to be known as Michael Jackson's youngest sister. She was a bonafide pop and R&B star. The following year, Janet Jackson teamed up with Herb Albert and Lisa Keith for the trumpet driven smash, "Diamonds". Two years later in 1989 we got the album, "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814". The album was also produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and included the singles "Alright" and "Black Cat". The former track was later remixed with a rap by Heavy D. "Black Cat" brought to mind songs like "Beat It" and "Dirty Diana" by her brother as they added a hard rock edge to the R&B songs.
In 1991, Janet released "janet". Why break from tradition - Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were back producing the album. The lead single was "That's The Way Love Goes" that featured a young Jennifer Lopez in the music video. The album had 28 tracks if you include the interludes. The singles included the evocative "If" and the ballad "Again" which was featured in Janet's movie, "Poetic Justice". In 1995, Janet teamed up with Michael for the song "Scream" which became a worldwide smash and an addition to Michael's "HIStory" greatest hits compilation. 1997 brought us "The Velvet Rope" by the same producers. The sexually fired style of "Go Deep" became a prominent single on the album. In 2001, Janet released the album, "All For You" accompanied by a world tour. The album's title track was a monster hit on MTV and worldwide singles chart.
The wrong answers include "Let's Get Serious" by Jermaine Jackson and "Jam" by Michael Jackson. "Torture" was a single by The Jacksons. "Muscles" was recorded by Diana Ross and featured Michael producing the track. "Erotica" was by Madonna and "Straight Up" was a Paula Abdul single.
