"Kitty" was a song recorded by Racey on their 1979 debut album, "Smash and Grab". It was written by the prolific song writing duo of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. It was not released as a single, but the group had success with "Some Girls", which was by the same songwriters and on the same album.

Toni Basil picked up the song, changed the name to "Mickey" and added a cheerleader-type chant: "Oh Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind" for her own debut album, 1981's "Word of Mouth". The song was a hit around the world, boosted by a video of Basil showing her cheerleading skills. Toni Basil was a singer, dancer and actress, who had previously starred in "Easy Rider" (1969) and the Monkees movie, "Head" (1968). She denied rumours that she chose "Mickey" as the object of the song because of a relationship with Monkees star Mickey Dolenz.
