6. On what musical instrument would you find drones and chanters?

Answer: Bagpipes

Bagpipes mainly originate from Europe, but most people are most familiar with those from Scotland. The player holds a cloth coated bag, and attached to this is a blowpipe, chanter and drones. The player blows air through the blowpipe which fills the bag. Air is then released from the bag through drones to create a constant note throughout play.

A chanter is also attached to the bag. Similar in look to a flute, the chanter has holes which the player opens and closes using his/her fingers which in turn produces the melody.
