Arsenal won their second FA Premier League title in the 2001-02 season (their first was 1997-98), which was their 12th English title. The run was ended by Manchester United at Old Trafford. They were beaten 2-0 on 7 December 2002.

Liverpool defeated West Bromwich Albion on 26 April 2003 in an away game. Michael Owen scored 4 goals in the 15th, 49th, 61st and 67th minute. The other 2 goals were scored by Milan Baros in 47th and 84th minute.
