The Basin Reserve is located in inner city Wellington and in 2014 the ground was the setting for the first triple century to be scored in a test match by a New Zealander when Brendon McCullum scored 302 against India. The previous highest individual test innings by a New Zealander was also at this ground, set in 1991 when Martin Crowe scored 299 against Sri Lanka.
In that same innings Crowe along with Andrew Jones, who scored 186, set a then world record for the highest partnership for the third wicket in a test match when they added 467 runs together.
2. Bert Sutcliffe Oval

The ground is named in honour of the former New Zealand test match opening batsman Bert Sutcliffe who, in 1950, was named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year. The ground itself is located in Canterbury Province within the campus of Lincoln University.
In 2000 the ground staged the final of the Women's Cricket World Cup; a match that went right to the last over, New Zealand (184) beat Australia (180) by 4 runs.
3. Cobham Oval

The cricket ground is named after Lord Cobham who was Governor-General of New Zealand from 1957 to 1962. The first international match to be played there was in February 2009, a Women's One Day International between New Zealand and Australia.
4. Eden Park
Answer: Auckland
Eden Park first hosted a test match in 1930 - the game between New Zealand and England ended in a draw. The ground was also the site of New Zealand's first ever test victory in 1956 when they defeated the West Indies by 190 runs. The ground has been witness to some outstanding individual performances: in 1933 English batsman Wally Hammond scored 336 not out, whilst in 1976 Indian spinner E. A. S. Prasanna took 8 wickets in a single innings.
The stadium also hosts Rugby matches - it staged the Rugby Union World Cup Final in 1987 and 2011.
5. Hagley Oval

Hagley Park replaced Lancaster Park as the main cricket ground in Christchurch after the latter suffered extensive damage during an earthquake in 2011. In a 2014 test match against Sri Lanka, Brendan McCullum scored 195 runs off 134 balls, an innings that contained 18 fours and 11 sixes.
In 2022 the ground staged the Women's Cricket World Cup Final between Australia and England. Australia won the match by 71 runs.
6. John Davies Oval

The John Davies Oval is located within the Queenstown Events Centre in Otago Province. The ground is surrounded by the Remarkables mountain range, Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown Airport.
In 2014, the ground was the site of a new world record for the fastest century in a One Day International with New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson scoring a century (100 Runs) off 36 balls in a match against the West Indies. The previous record was held by Pakistan's Shahid Afridi who achieved the feat off 37 balls in 1996. Anderson was only to hold the record for a year as in 2015 the South African batsman AB de Villiers claimed the record for himself when he reached his century off 31 balls in a match at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, also against the West Indies.
7. McLean Park

McLean Park hosted it's first test match in 1979 - the game between New Zealand and Pakistan ending in a draw. In 1995, Sri Lankan left-arm seam bowler Chaminda Vaas became the first bowler to take ten wickets in a test match at the ground, an achievement that also included five wicket hauls in each innings (5/47 & 5/43).
8. Saxton Oval

Saxton Oval hosted its first international match in 2010, a Women's T20 International between New Zealand and Australia. In 2015 the ground was the venue for three matches at the Men's Cricket World Cup. The Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Perera scored a T20 International century off 44 deliveries in a 2025 match against New Zealand.
9. Seddon Park

Seddon Park has been a ground where several New Zealand cricketers have seen great success in test cricket - batsmen Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor have scored 7 and 6 test match centuries respectively, whilst fast bowlers Tim Southee (54 wickets) and Neil Wagner (41 wickets) have also done well at the ground.
In One Day Internationals at the ground New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill scored 180 not out against South Africa in 2017.
10. University Oval

The Umpire Decision Review System (DRS) was first officially used at University Oval in a 2009 test match between New Zealand and Pakistan. In a 2013 test match at the ground New Zealander Ross Taylor (217 not out) and West Indian Darren Bravo (218) both scored double centuries.
