Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Daniel Cormmier

Answer: United States

Cormier is a former division I wrestler that competed in the UFC's Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions (2008-2020), managing to win the championship belt in both. After retiring he worked as a commentator for the UFC alongside Jon Anik and Joe Rogan.
2. Anderson Silva

Answer: Brazil

Nicknamed "the Spider" because of his unorthodox and surprising striking ability, the superstar was the biggest draw in the early 2010s, achieving a then-record 16 win streak in both the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions, although he was only a champion in the former.

He lost his title in 2013 to Chris Weidman via knockout, and was unable to win it back after he suffered a gruesome leg injury in the rematch.
3. Georges St-Pierre

Answer: Canada

The champion Canadian Welterweight Georges "Rush" St-Pierre (GSP) was a dominant and well-rounded champion. He started karate training after being bullied in school and maintained his dominance in the UFC from 2002 to 2013. He came out of retirement in 2017 to challenge for the Middleweight belt against Michael Bisping, winning that fight by submission and becoming a rare two-division champion.
4. Conor McGregor

Answer: Ireland

The Irish phenom was the first fighter to win two division titles and hold them simultaneously (Featherweight and Lightweight), achieving this in 2016 following his defeat of Eddie Alvarez. His brash trash talking style and confrontational nature made his press conferences a must-watch event.

He fought Floyd Mayweather in 2017 in his professional boxing debut, losing via TKO in the 10th round.
5. Michael Bisping

Answer: United Kingdom

Bisping took a fight on short notice in 2016 to fight Luke Rockhold for the Middleweight title, and knocked out the champ to win a surprise belt, one that he would lose in his first defense against Georges St-Pierre. His charisma and trash talk made him a fan favorite, and the talented orator transitioned into a UFC commentator after hanging up his gloves in 2018.
6. Israel Adensanya

Answer: Nigeria

Nicknamed "The Last Stylebender", Adesanya is a world champion caliber kickboxer that dominated the UFC Middleweight division before losing his title to Alex Pereira in 2022. While he was born in New Zealand, he proudly maintains his Nigerian roots and represents Nigeria while walking out to the octagon.
7. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Answer: Russia

Khabib retired in 2021 with a perfect 29-0 record. The Dagestani born wrestler was one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history, rarely losing a round and finishing most of his opponents with powerful submissions. He is arguably best known for his defeat of Conor McGregor in 2018 following threats and insults in one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history.
8. Cyril Gane

Answer: France

The heavyweight is one of the most exciting fighters in the division. His most anticipated test came in 2025 against Tom Aspinall for the title, but the bout ended in disappointment for both fighters when Gane illegally poked Aspinall in the eye in the first round, a round he seemed to be winning, ending the fight in no contest after Aspinall was unable to continue.
9. Dricus Du Plessis

Answer: South Africa

Although Du Plessis was dominated and lost his Middleweight title in 2025 to Khamzat Chimaev. He was a stellar champion, South Africa's first in the UFC, defeating Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland, two of the most dangerous strikers in the division.
10. Robert Whittaker

Answer: Australia

Robert Whittaker was Australia's first champion (welterweight division in 2017), paving the way for future Australians Alexander Volkanovski and Jack Della Maddalena. He initially won the interim belt from Yoel Romero before being promoted to undisputed champion.
