Answer: Bliss

Linka went to Washington, D.C. to visit her uncle Dimitri, and her cousin Boris, unaware that Boris was addicted to a designer drug called Bliss. Bliss was created by Verminous Skumm.

Boris got Linka hooked on Bliss when he spiked her food with the drug. The Planeteers fight off an army of addicts at the White House, while they tried to snap Linka out of her addiction.

Boris died of an overdose of Bliss. This helps Linka break her addiction long enough to help the others call Captain Planet. Captain Planet defeated Verminous Skumm by spinning him around in his helicopter, throwing him into the river, and burning up the formula to create Bliss.

In an ironic twist of fate, Verminous Skumm accidentally became addicted to his own product!

Answer: Commander Clash

In the first season episodes "Mission To Save Earth" Parts 1 and 2, Commander Clash was tricked by Dr. Blight into capturing the Planeteers, after they were stranded on his island without their rings.

After Kwame, Linka and Wheeler rescued Clash from quicksand, he agreed to free Gi and Ma-Ti.

When Linka showed Clash on his computer that the war he was fighting was over, he felt like he was obsolete and a relic.

Commander Clash managed to defeat Captain Pollution, an evil doppelganger of Captain Planet created from evil versions of the Planeteers rings. He later led the Planeteers and Captain Planet in a battle against the Eco Villains (minus Hoggish Greedly), and Captain Pollution.

In the season 2 episode "Summit To Save Earth Part 2", Commander Clash was called upon again to help the Planeteers rescue Gaia from being destroyed by Zarm, the spirit of destruction.

The voice of Commander Clash was provided by Lou Gossett, Jr., who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley in the 1982 classic "An Officer And A Gentleman". Lou Gossett, Jr. passed away on March 29, 2024.

Argos Bleak was primarily the right-hand man for Looten Plunder. But he also does freelance mercenary work. Bleak was hired by the mayor of a town in the Florida Keys to eliminate the sharks in the area.

This proves to be a monumental mistake when the beach is overrun by stinging jellyfish!

Kwame is the one who leads the Planeteers off when they combine their powers to summon Captain Planet.

The voice of Kwame was provided by Levar Burton, who is known as the host of the children's TV show "Reading Rainbow", and is also known for his role as Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge on the TV series "Star Trek: The Next Generation".

Zarm was indeed a spirit of Earth, like Gaia (the "yang" to Gaia's "yin"). But Zarm left Earth for other worlds and ended up conquering and destroying them with his war-like methods/influence.

Zarm returned to Earth and tried to influence the Planeteers (with the exception of Ma-Ti), giving them more powerful gauntlets, and convinced them to follow him instead of Gaia, who becomes increasingly weaker and mortal.

Zarm's plan was to use the Planeteers to help him start a war by destroying nuclear missiles, which would've caused a nuclear war.

On several different occasions, Dr. Blight has invented a time machine. She has also invented a shrinking machine that she used on the Planeteers and Sly Sludge. She shrank them and placed them inside a canteen filled with contaminated water that Kwame drank. The Planeteers raced against time to save Kwame from being infected by water-born parasites.
