The first 36 episodes of the 96 "Gilligan's Island" were in black and white.
The very first pilot episode, "Marooned," was not aired until about 30 years later on TBS. In the original episode, there were 7 characters but 3 of them were not the same as shown in the actual aired 96 episodes. There were 2 co-workers (secretaries) and a high school teacher. This pilot had different actors also. One secretary became Ginger, the other became Mary Ann, and the high school teacher became the professor.
Some of the guest stars on "Gilligan's Island" included Larry Storch, Kurt Russell, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Phil Silvers, and Don Rickles.
