"The Flintstones" was the first animated series in a prime-time TV slot from 1960 to 1966. This "sitcom" followed the adventures of Fred and Wilma Flintstone with neighbors Barney (Bernard Matthew) and Betty (Elizabeth Jean) Rubble. Later children were added; Pebbles Flintstone (born in season 3) and Bamm-Bamm Rubble (adopted in season 4).
Other main characters were Dino (pet dinosaur) and Mr George Slate; Fred and Barney's boss at the Slate Rock and Grave Company.
Some guest stars who did voices were: Harvey Korman (The Great Gazoo), Tony Curtis (Stony Curtis) and Ann-Margret (Ann-Margrock).
The original series had 166 episodes. The "Meet the Flintstones" theme song first appeared in season 3; episode 3. When the series went into syndication they included the theme song in the first 2 seasons.
