Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Morticia left Pugsley and Gomez alone to spend quality time together. What did Pugsley want to do?

Answer: Go to the circus

Morticia is in the playroom with Mama and Uncle Fester and she says that she left the pair upstairs to spend quality time together. Mama believes Morticia and Gomez spoil the children when Morticia mentioned she was looking for Aristotle (the octopus) who was running around the house. Morticia agreed with Mama that children need discipline, but that they also needed love.

Cut to Gomez sitting on the couch reading the newspaper, ignoring Pugsley who sees an ad for the circus on the back page. Pusgley then declares that he wants to see Gorgo the gorilla. Gomez agrees to Pugsley's request because he's friend with the owner of the circus - he was a sword swallower when Gomez first met him.
2. Morticia mentions to Gomez that the rest of the family had plans to do what?

Answer: Spider hunt

When Gomez breaks the news to Morticia that he wanted to take Pugsley to the circus, her first reaction was that she wished Pugsley stayed home and played in his bat cave. But Gomez thought this circus would be all right because he was friends with the owner. Morticia is placated, although the house would be lonely with everyone off on the spider hunt.

But she will be busy with her carnivorous plants.
3. When Gomez learns that Morticia is going to be lonely at the house by herself, he suggests she do what?

Answer: Invite some neighbors over

Morticia decides to invite Mrs. Magruder - the one with the hatchet face - over for tea. Mrs. Magruder decides to accept the invitation when Morticia calls - after all, Mrs. Page reminds Mrs. Magruder, the Ladies League is having a membership drive.
4. When Gomez and Pugsley go to the zoo, Gomez states that business didn't look too good for Mr. Webber. Leaving Pugsley to go look at Gorgo, Gomez goes off to talk to his old friend. What was one of the reasons Mr. Webber gave for the circus being in trouble?

Answer: Fat lady fell in love and lost weight

The fat lady fell in love, couldn't eat or sleep and lost 240 pounds. Then Marvin, the short man, got on a vitamin kick and couldn't stop growing - he reached 5'8"! (Gomez suggested billing him as the World's Tallest Short Man. Mr. Webber tried that with the fat lady - "World's Skinniest Fat Lady" - but it didn't work.) The only thing Mr. Webber had going was Gorgo.

But if you've seen one gorilla, you've seen them all.
5. What happens when Pugsley starts playing with Gorgo?

Answer: Gorgo begins copying Pugsley

Pugsley begins doing things and notices Gorgo would copy his movements, which Pugsley finds hilarious. When it's time to go, Gorgo and Pugsley were both sad and Puglsey asked to hang Gorgo's picture from the newspaper in his room.
6. Did Pugsley initially try to hide the fact that Gorgo came to the Addams house?

Answer: No

We first see Gorgo going to Pugsley's window and the very next scene is Pugsley giggling off camera, Morticia watching and Gomez saying he had wired Oscar Webber to let him know that Gorgo was at their home. We never hear that Pugsley kept the fact that Gorgo had come to the house from his parents.

Morticia had been watching Gorgo and Pugsley racing to the top of a tree. Pugsley won every time. Gomez thought it was because Pugsley had an advantage: he could hang from his teeth.
7. What is Morticia worried about when the ladies are coming for tea?

Answer: She's too busy with her plants and Mama is away

Mama is off on a spider hunt, her tea linens all need laundering, and Morticia's plants have been a bit needy so she doesn't have time to get ready for the ladies. Gomez has a solution: Have Lurch do the laundry. Morticia then begins over-working Lurch by making him play the harpsicord (it helps her think) and laundering the curtains.
8. Gorgo notices Lurch is being overworked and decides to help Lurch by doing what?

Answer: Ironing a shirt

Gorgo was watching when Morticia asked Lurch to wash the curtains (in addition to all his other tasks), so when he was alone, Gorgo put a shirt on the ironing board and began to iron. The next scene was Morticia and Gomez admiring the perfectly-ironed shirt and showing it to Lurch, remarking that there were some things Lurch could do, and some things an ape could do.

The scene after we find out Gomez hurt Lurch's feelings and that Lurch thought Gorgo might be after Lurch's job.
9. When the ladies arrive, Lurch is clear that he will be serving tea, but Gorgo does what?

Answer: Locks Lurch in the closet

When Morticia leaves, Gorgo pushes Lurch into the closet and locks the door. So Gorgo is after Lurch's job after all! Morticia then rings for tea to be served and Gorgo comes out and serves the tea, spilling the cream when the ladies scream at him.

Oddly, when explaining what happened to Gomez, Morticia still claimed that Gorgo spoiled everything even though it was the women shouting that made Gorgo spill (and he didn't even spill on them, it was just on the tray), making the women run out of the house. Either way, Gomez then explained that he had heard there were some people who were afraid of gorillas. Morticia couldn't believe people would be afraid of Gorgo. She still believed it was that Gorgo behaved so poorly and gave him some more clothes to iron instead.
10. How did Gomez save the circus?

Answer: Bill Gorgo differently

When Mr. Webber came to collect Gorgo and saw Gorgo ironing, he had a fit. Gorgo, the killer gorilla... ironing?!?! Gomez had an idea! Gorgo wasn't just any gorilla (after all, even Mr. Webber said if you had seen one gorilla, you had seen them all). Gorgo could iron - and he was very good at it! So Mr. Webber no longer had "Gorgo - the killer gorilla", he had "Gorgo - the world's most domesticated gorilla."

Mrs. Magruder later apologized when she realized Morticia was training Gorgo for a friend. Morticia had learned her lesson, too - next time she'd use Thing when hosting a tea. Thing never spilled a drop.
