Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many Traitors did Claudia select in this series?

Answer: Three

This series of "The Traitors", nineteen celebrities were invited to the Scottish Highlands, all hoping to win a cash prize, and after driving in and spending the day attempting to earn Shields, Claudia sat them all at the Round Table to make her selections.

This series, she selected three Traitors from the bunch, placing her hand on the shoulders of Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr, all of whom were shocked to unite in the Traitor Turret that night. The game was on.
2. Instead of committing their first Murder in the turret, the Traitors did so in plain sight, using which of these poisoned flowers to do the deed?

Answer: Lily

Claudia informed the Traitors, during their first meeting, that no one would be Murdered on the first night. Instead, they would need to devise a way to Murder in Plain Sight, a process they would learn that evening when they opened secret letters following their first challenge. For this, they were told that one of them would need to find the poisoned black lily in the bar, rub their hands on its poisoned pollen, and touch the face of their victim before the night was over. They would die the next day due to the slow-working poison.

At the end of the next mission it was determined that Alan Carr was able to get away with the Murder, managing to touch Paloma Faith's face, making her the first victim of the game.
3. All cash prizes earned during this series went to charity.

Answer: True

In light of this series being cast with celebrities, the up-to-£100,000 prize pot built up for the winner(s) would be given to the charity of their choice. This money could only be built up as a result of the group's success in a series of missions. There were ten of these missions throughout the game, but nine contained cash winnings (with only the first resulting in Shields).

In the end of the series, the prize pot accumulated £87,500 to be split between the finalists.
4. Throughout the competition, how many players relinquished their Shields?

Answer: One

Throughout the competition, six of the ten missions garnered Shields as potential rewards, but of these, only one person relinquished theirs-- Charlotte Church. After winning a Shield in the first mission (involving digging through the contestants' own graves), she ended up handing in her Shield to bypass a gate in the following Trojan Horse mission, opting to pass through the gate to undo an error made by a fellow Faithful. All in all, there were twenty Shields recovered throughout the game. This was her only one.
5. Due to a tie vote at the fourth Round Table, what happened to the contestants who were on the hook to be Banished?

Answer: Their fates were left to chance

At the halfway point of the game, and with no Traitors to show for all of their efforts, the Faithfuls agreed to be bolder at the Round Table for their fourth Banishment. With some worrying about Mark's outward demeanour during the game and David being called out for being under the radar until recent discussions, the votes were mixed up enough to end in a tie, and worse, on the revote, the pair remained tied.

This led to a first for the competition as their fates would be left to chance. Claudia revealed, to both, the Chests of Chance, one of which would contain a Shield, saving one player and automatically Banishing the other. David ended up drawing the Shield while Mark was eliminated.
6. Which Faithful was Murdered face-to-face by the Traitors?

Answer: Lucy

One late-game mission had the players heading down to the castle's massive chessboard for a test that would have the Faithfuls putting themselves into the Traitors' shoes, selecting remaining players to fit thought-provoking prompts. The catch was that the players were split into two teams with one team winning Shields and leaving the other half up for Murder that evening

That night, the eligible players were told to walk down to the chessboard, one at a time, for the chance to be Murdered face-to-face. Due to their eligibility (with Traitors in their team and Stephen Fry eliminated), only Kate, Nick, and Lucy had to walk down to the board. Kate and Nick encountered Claudia, but Lucy was Murdered by the Traitor trio and removed from the game.
7. Over the course of the series, the Traitors never elected to recruit or blackmail one of the Faithfuls.

Answer: True

Generally, once Traitors start to get eliminated, the remaining Traitors have the opportunity to recruit a Faithful into the fold instead of Murdering them from the Traitor's Turrent. And in the case where only one Traitor remains in the game, they can Blackmail a Faithful, forcing them to comply with the request (or, else, be Murdered). Because of how lasting the Traitors were this series, none of them elected to use this option, leaving only three Traitors for the entirety of the run.
8. The final Murder of the competition was done face-to-face, and it involved one of the Traitors using which key phrase?

Answer: "Parting is such sweet sorrow."

After the contestants Banished their first Traitor at the game's sixth Round Table, the remaining players were surprised by a victory feast put on by Claudia. Unbeknownst to them, however, she also set the Traitors on another mission to Murder in Plain Sight.

In order for Cat and Alan to accomplish this, one of them had to perform a toast at dinner, targeting their intended victim and using the classic Shakespeare line "parting is such sweet sorrow". Alan was able to follow through on this without anyone being the wiser, referencing Stephen Fry in doing so, to Murder Celia.

She was the final Murdered player of the game.
9. In the final day of the competition, which of the following rules was implemented?

Answer: Anyone Banished would not reveal their true nature

As became tradition after being introduced in an earlier series, those who made it to the final day of the competition would be left in the dark as to the true natures of their fellow finalists, meaning that as soon as the game whittled down to the final five, the Faithfuls had to act on gut instinct.

After voting to banish Cat and not knowing if she was a Traitor or not, this left the remaining players eager to continue banishing during a tense End Game, believing there to be three Traitors from the get-go, and knowing that only Jonathan was outed at previous Round Tables.
10. Who emerged victorious at the end of the game?

Answer: The Traitors

When the final five came together on the last day, completing their last mission and making their final moves, they sat around the final Round Table and managed to Banish Cat Burns, leaving only one Traitor in contention for the prize.

Subsequently, the contestants voted to Banish Joe Marler at the endgame ceremony, believing his maneuvering in the last Round Table to be dubious. Without knowing the status of the last two eliminations, it led the final three to decide they were comfortable ending the game as a trio.

Unfortunately for both Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga, there was still a Traitor amongst them, and it was revealed that Alan Carr, as a Traitor since the beginning, was the sole winner of the grand prize of £87,500 for the charity of his choice, Neuroblastoma UK.
