Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "The Simpsons" has been one of the long-lasting TV shows of all time. How many episodes had been created prior to "The Homer They Fall"?

Answer: 155

This became the 156th episode in franchise history, following up "You Only Move Twice." Having released in late 1996, the franchise would continue to run strong and produce many, many more after it.
2. Bart Simpson has a trinket of his, a comic utility belt, stolen by Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney early in the episode. When learning that this happened, Homer confronts the parents of the bullies. What happens with Homer here?

Answer: Homer gets beaten up

This takes place in Moe's Tavern. It is the catalyst for events yet to happen in the episode. Despite being beaten up, Homer does not fall down and stays upright the entire time. Moe, impressed with Homer's resilience, will suggest to Homer that he attempt boxing.
3. Moe reveals to Homer that he was once a boxer and agrees to coach Homer. Moe discovers there's a big problem with Homer: his low stamina. What does Moe suggest to Homer as a way to get around this?

Answer: Let himself get beaten up before fighting back

The idea being that the opponent would expend their energy beating up Homer, then become worn down. Once worn down, Homer could then start fighting back and put them down properly.
4. When he begins his boxing career, how does Homer fare?

Answer: He wins all of his fights

Homer becomes the #1 rated boxer in the Springfield Boxing Association, though he does this mostly by overcoming a series of seemingly casual, untrained opponents who don't put up much of a fight.
5. Moe enjoys some success in this episode, but is surprised when he receives a visit from a man by the name of Lucius Sweet. What did Lucius formerly do with Moe?

Answer: Manager

Earlier in the episode, Moe tells Homer that he was once a boxer. As it turns out, Moe's old coach in Lucius Sweet happened to be in town.
6. Moe and Lucius Sweet come together to arrange a fight between Homer and boxer Drederick Tatum. Tatum, a legend in his own right, is having one significant problem that Homer could probably help with. What is Tatum's one problem as a boxer?

Answer: He wins fights too easily

Tatum had developed a reputation in Springfield for being one of the most boring boxers around. The simple reason is that he ends almost all of his fights with one single blow, making them brief and unexciting. Lucius Sweet believes that Homer's capacity to take limitless amounts of hits and stay standing will make him an entertaining opponent for Drederick Tatum to fight.
7. What was the title of the fight between Homer and Drederick Tatum?

Answer: 'Payback'

This was essentially the "title" of the fight between the two, and was used to promote the fight itself.
8. Homer's wife, Marge, concerned for her husband going up against a boxing legend, tells Moe to promise her one thing. What does Marge want Moe to do?

Answer: Stop the fight if Homer is too endangered

Moe assures Marge he will do so, but as Moe is not the absolute most astute person in the show's history, nothing about this sequence would give the impression that Moe would follow through. Or that if he did follow through, it would likely not be carried out through the most competent means.
9. Does Homer defeat Drederick Tatum in the fight?

Answer: No

Once the fight begins, Homer instantly realizes that his usual strategy of trying to outlast his opponent simply will not work. Drederick Tatum is far bigger, stronger, and has far more energy and stamina than Homer's previous foes. Tatum lays into Homer, beating him savagely, before Moe intervenes and uses a paramotor to rescue Homer from serious, possibly fatal injury.
10. An unusual twist takes place in the credits of this episode. One character is seen using a contraption in seemingly random places around the world, and is using it to provide some sort of support during natural disasters of all kinds. Who does this?

Answer: Moe

Right before the episode itself ends, Moe is seen using the same paramotor he used to save Homer, and is just flying off into the distance with it. Once the credits play, a slideshow featuring Moe using the paramotor to help a number of people are seen. He picks up a woman and her baby to save them from a flood. He uses it to rescue a man from a pit of quicksand and to use a fire extinguisher on burning trees. He then uses it to drop care packages to seemingly starving people beneath him.

Quite an ambiguous way to end an episode based around boxing.
