Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Was an astronaut

Answer: Homer

Homer became an astronaut in the season 5 episode "Deep Space Homer" after winning a contest by NASA to send an average person into space. Aboard the space shuttle, Homer causes all kinds of problems, including smuggling potato chips aboard. However, Homer winds up saving the day, allowing the shuttle to return to Earth safely and is branded a hero.
2. Failed to jump Springfield Gorge

Answer: Homer

In one of the most iconic moments in the show's history, Homer fell into Springfield Gorge in the season 2 episode "Bart the Daredevil". Bart took up partaking in dangerous stunts and became popular. However, his stunt to jump Springfield Gorge on a skateboard worried his parents. Homer tried to talk Bart out of it by saying he would jump the gorge. Realizing it was too dangerous, Bart pulled out of the stunt but Homer wound up skating over the gorge by accident and narrowly missed the ledge on the other side, crashing down.
3. Was once a bounty hunter

Answer: Homer

Homer, along with Ned Flanders, became a bounty hunter in the season 20 episode "Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes". After Homer was arrested for partaking in a brawl, he realized he could make a lot of money being a bounty hunter. With the aid of Flanders, Homer's business grew.

However, his newfound partnership with Flanders was ruined by Homer's greediness and lawlessness, prompting Ned to quit.
4. Worked as a real estate agent

Answer: Marge

Marge became a real estate agent in the season 9 episode "Realty Bites". Working for Lionel Hutz's Red Blazer Realty, Marge initially struggles to sell homes because she refuses to lie about the houses to her friends and neighbors. Hutz threatens to fire Marge unless she sells a murder house to the Flanderses.
5. Owned a pretzel business

Answer: Marge

Marge opened a pretzel wagon in the season 8 episode "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson". Marge was originally part of an all-women's investor group called the Investorettes but was kicked out because she was too conservative with money. When the Investorettes bought a pita food cart, Marge purchased a pretzel wagon to compete with them. Marge's pretzel wagon winds up bombing until Homer secures the help of local mobster Fat Tony.
6. Went blind after looking at a solar eclipse

Answer: Marge

Marge looked directly at a solar eclipse in the season 20 episode "Gone Maggie Gone". The family had secured devices to safely view the solar eclipse, but Homer broke his and Marge gave him hers. Marge looked at the sun anyway and became temporarily blinded. Since Marge was out of commission for a bit, the household fell into chaos, resulting in Maggie being taken in by a convent of nuns.
7. Shoplifted a video game

Answer: Bart

In the season 7 episode "Marge Be Not Proud", Marge refused to buy Bart a violent video game called "Bonestorm". Bart winds up shoplifting the game and gets caught. Embarrassed by Bart's behavior, Marge begins neglecting Bart and leaves him out of family Christmas activities, causing Bart to reassess his ways.
8. Was a faith healer

Answer: Bart

Bart became a faith healer in the season 11 episode "Faith Off". After Homer got a bucket of glue stuck to his head, Bart managed to pull it off when no one else could. Convinced he had the power of faith, Bart began healing the people of Springfield of their problems using faith and pseudoscience as Lisa warned him against doing so.
9. Mooned the American flag

Answer: Bart

Bart accidentally mooned the American flag in the season 15 episode "Bart-Mangled Banner". Because of his disrespectful action, the Simpson family is targeted as being unpatriotic and ostracized. The episode is largely a commentary of events in the aftermath of 9/11, when patriotism was at an all-time high and those who were critical of America, especially involvement in the Iraq War, were canceled.
10. Adopted a Brazilian orphan

Answer: Lisa

Lisa adopted a Brazilian orphan named Ronaldo in the season 15 episode "Blame it on Lisa". When Ronaldo stopped writing to Lisa, the family traveled to Rio de Janeiro to try to find him. The episode garnered significant controversy in Brazil as the episode portrayed the country and Rio de Janeiro negatively, including widespread mentions of drug lords and slums.
11. Tried to save a beached whale

Answer: Lisa

In the season 21 episode "The Squirt and the Whale", Lisa bonds with a whale named Bluella who becomes beached after a storm. Lisa rallies the people of Springfield to save Bluella and push her back into the ocean. However, their efforts fail and Bluella dies. Lisa begins questioning her activism as she is often left disappointed and upset.
12. Won an essay contest

Answer: Lisa

Lisa won an essay contest on patriotism in the season 3 episode "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington". As a result, the Simpsons travel to Washington, D.C., where Lisa witnesses a congressman take a bribe. With her image of America shattered, Lisa writes a new essay exposing the congressman.
13. Shot Mr. Burns

Answer: Maggie

Maggie infamously shot Mr. Burns in the two-part episode "Who Shot Mr. Burns?". The shooting was apparently accidental, as the gun went off when Mr. Burns tried to steal some candy from Maggie, who was in the back seat of the car. Subsequent episodes that aired after this one have shown Maggie to be proficient in firearms and have suggested Maggie's shooting of Mr. Burns was not an accident.
14. First word was Daddy

Answer: Maggie

In the season 4 episode "Lisa's First Word", the family tries to get Maggie to speak for the first time. After telling the story of Lisa's first word and failing to get Maggie to speak, Homer puts Maggie to bed. He tells her he hopes she never learns to talk because once kids start talking, they start talking back. Alone in her room, Maggie utters her first word: "Daddy".

In this episode, Maggie was voiced by Elizabeth Taylor.
15. Led a revolt at daycare

Answer: Maggie

In the season 4 episode "A Streetcar Named Marge", Marge takes a role in a theatrical production. Maggie then has to go to daycare and Marge puts in her in the Ayn Rand School for Tots where Ms. Sinclair, the owner, takes away Maggie's pacifier. Maggie then leads all of the other babies in a revolt against Ms. Sinclair and a mission to retrieve their stolen pacifier.

The Ayn Rand School for Tots also appeared in the 2012 animated short film "Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare".
