Answer: Motobug

Motobugs are basically what you'd get if you mixed a regular ladybug with the Wheelie enemies from "Kirby". In other words, it has the upper half of a ladybug, with a wheel for a 'torso'.

The Motobug is the very first enemy the player encounters in the very first "Sonic the Hedgehog" game.

2. A Badnik resembling a piranha. They try to launch surprise attacks.

Answer: Chopper

Chopper is one of the oldest Badniks around, debuting along with the franchise for the very first "Sonic the Hedgehog" game. Their premise is simple: they will lie in wait under a body of water, then spring up and try to attack Sonic the moment he gets near.

Answer: Buzz Bomber

Uniquely, there are multiple different kinds of Buzz Bombers. The original variant distinctly looks like a bee, but down the road, other insects such as a wasp would be represented. All of them simply go by the 'Buzz Bomber' moniker.

Crabmeat is a Badnik which moves very slowly, then stops moving entirely before ejecting two energy projectiles upward. It's a little bit like if a Piranha Plant from "Mario" wasn't completely stationary.

Uniquely, Crabmeat actually has voice lines in "Sonic" literature. Specifically, in Archie Comics' "Sonic the Hedgehog" #185, titled "The Misfit Badniks Salty, Soggy Sequel", a Crabmeat has dialogue detailing the Badnik's goal to get their good name back by taking over Mobius.

Answer: Coconuts

Coconuts has an impact in both the video game and television world. It debuted in "Sonic the Hedgehog 2", and was a significant side character in "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" as the only Badnik to be a recurring presence in that show.

Answer: Slicer

The Slicer is essentially a big, green praying mantis with huge 'slicers' for arms. This Badnik is unique, as the slicing arms briefly carry on a life of their own even after Sonic destroys the main body. As such, if destroying Slicer while possessing zero rings, it's possible to take a death even after destroying the Badnik.

7. A Badnik which is a playable character in the "Sonic R" racing video game.

Answer: Egg-Robo

Egg-Robos are small robots capable of hovering that were aesthetically designed in Dr Eggman's appearance. They debuted in "Sonic 3 & Knuckles". In "Sonic R", getting all five tokens on the Regal Ruin course will unlock the Egg-Robo as a playable racer.

As the name suggests, this is a Badnik resembling a huge caterpillar. Only, this creepy crawler has massive purple spikes protruding along its body, making it impossible to damage from the side. It also splits apart when its head is attacked. Attacking the head is mandatory to beat it however, so I hope you brought your bug spray!

In classic, older "Sonic" games, this enemy only appears in sky-themed areas such as "Sonic the Hedgehog 2's" Sky Chase Zone or "Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II's" Sky Fortress Zone. In games coming out after the Wii, this enemy started seeing usage in desert themed areas. Earlier iterations were far, far faster, which made them a lot harder to deal with.
