Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Heading up Death Mountain, Link will need to contend with which of these elemental concerns?

Answer: Overwhelming heat

It should be apparent quite soon into Link's exploration around Hyrule that Death Mountain is an important point of interest, but it'll become almost too obvious that making his way up the side of the peak will take a bit more than just strolling through the rocky plateaus to victory. Overwhelming heat will hit Link at a certain threshold, and with that he'll start taking damage (and probably need to contend with magma bombs en route).

While Link can get Firepoof Armor from the town near the top, it'll take Fireproof Elixirs to help him withstand the heat for a little time. The stables near the base of the mountain might be a good place to pick some up.
2. When Link reaches Goron City, who's referred to as 'the boss'?

Answer: Bludo

Reaching Goron City near the summit of Death Mountain, Link will discover that he fought alongside the Goron champion, Daruk, in his past life, and because of this the Gorons housed there are very aware of who he is, directing him swiftly to 'the Boss', Bludo, who waits in front of his house for him.

Bludo will inform Link that with Vah Rudania running rampant, the eruptions of Death Mountain have been increasing and threatening the local Goron mining operations. In light of not knowing of Link's return, Bludo is waiting for Yunobo, one of Daruk's descendants. He's the first order of business in this region.
3. Yunobo went to the Abandoned North Mine to collect which of these?

Answer: Painkillers

As Link discovers when he finally reaches Goron city, Bludo has severe back pain preventing him from taking action against Rudania, and it's for this reason that Yunobo went off to Darunia Lake, off to retrieve painkillers from a storage vault. Since Yunobo never returned from his errand, it makes sense to go off to find him; Link will find him in the vault, for sure, but it'll take some work to free him from within.
4. One landmark spot on Death Mountain is a bridge named after the local region. What region is this location found in?

Answer: Eldin

What Link and Yunobo will come to realize throughout their adventures together up and along Death Mountain is (a) that they will need to use heavy firepower to defeat the Lizalfos and Moblins all around the region and (b) that Yunobo might have the power within him to aid in defeating the Divine Beast of the region.

The problem is that Death Mountain has been sending out magma bombs since Daruk was around, a clear sign that Vah Rudania has been acting on the fritz for a while. Bludo will send the two up to the Bridge of Eldin to start their final ascent, and there they can learn more about the tools that will blast them to success.
5. How many hits from Death Mountain's cannons will it take to bring down Vah Rudania?

Answer: Three

What Link and Yunobo will discover is that normal cannonballs are no good against Rudania though it's not unexpected since the Gorons have been flinging Yunobo to quell the Divine Beast on occasion for quite a time. What this means is that the pair will need to ascend Death Mountain, aiming for the cannons along the paths, and firing at Rudania three times to stop him. There will, however, be sentries all along the way, and if Rudania catches Link or Yunobo, he'll set off magma bombs and put a stop to their assault.

Once three hits are made, the Divine Beast will climb up to the volcano's edge and jump in. Link will have no choice but to descend into the crater.
6. How many terminals does Link need to activate inside of Vah Rudania to access the boss?

Answer: Five

After the spirit of Daruk, the Goron guardian, welcomes Link into the giant, mechanical salamander that is Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Link will descend into the dungeon to find a pitch-back central chamber that he'll need to navigate with minimal light to find the Guidance Stone.

It's there, using his Sheikah Slate, that Link will discover he must activate five different terminals in and outside the Divine Beast to face off against the boss...but it'll take a bit more than just wandering the halls. Accessing the Guidance Stone will also open the shutters that seal off the inner chambers of the dungeon, letting the heat in.
7. Once Link activates Vah Rudania, he can do which of the following to the Divine Beast to access more areas within?

Answer: Tilt the Divine Beast on its side

Although other "Legend of Zelda" games have Iron Boots and Magnetic Gloves, you're virtually on your own in "Breath of the Wild" when it comes to this unique dungeon mechanic. From the map screen, Link has the ability to tilt Vah Rudania on its side, shifting the entire space onto a ninety degree angle and affecting not only the layout, but the obstacles within. Doing this will inevitably allow link to access more terminals than before, but he'll need to tilt it upright to finish out the area.
8. The scourge within the Divine Beast Vah Rudania will be known by what name?

Answer: Fireblight Ganon

Once all of the terminals in the dungeon are activated Link can head to the roof atop the Divine Beast and start his fight against the blight placed upon it-- Fireblight Ganon (the Scourge of Divine Beast Vah Rudania). The first half of this fight is standard in the way of the game's blighted bosses, and Link will need to face off against the element du jour (fire, go figure) while chipping away at the being's health.

In the second half of the fight, however, Fireblight Ganon will be protected by flame and use distance to launch massive meteoric attacks. Remote Bombs are the choice to make here.
9. Daruk's Protection will protect Link from which of these when used?

Answer: Attacks

Activating the final control panel will allow Link to free the Guardian Spirit of Daruk who, like the others, will take their blight-free Divine Beast to the nearby mountaintops to contribute to the fight against Ganon. In the meantime, however, Daruk's abilities will be handed over to grant Link a power of protection from the depths of his soul.

This ability, Daruk's Protection, will automatically protect him from attacks if the ZL button is held and it has three charges to do this.
10. Once Link returns to Goron City after completing Vah Rudania, he'll be awarded with the Boulder Breaker. He'll also be pointed towards a forest region and told he might find which of these there?

Answer: A sword

When Link finishes up the dungeon that is Vah Rudania, Yunobo will take him back to Bludo so that he and the other Gorons can continue their ore mining operations unabated. In the meantime, Link can take the treasure in Bludo's house, the sharp blade Daruk himself once wielded, known as the Boulder Breaker. This two-handed weapon can be recrafted by Rohan if it breaks (using a Cobble Crusher, five pieces of Flint, and a Diamond).

Bludo will also give a bit of cryptic info to Link as well, informing him of a sword hidden in a forest somewhere that had the power to seal away darkness. It might be worth looking into.
