Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these locations is home to a village of Fractones?

Answer: Longneck Plateau

When Donkey Kong and Pauline land on Sublayer 300 they'll end up commencing their trip on the rocky outcropping of Tallfall Cliffs, home to a number of long-necked, giraffe-spotted Fractones who'll ultimately point over a massive pit towards Longneck Plateau, the base of operations for anyone exploring the Layer.

They'll allude to the region's banana warehouse which, until VoidCo ransacked it, was a repository for all the things Donkey Kong needs. If he finds any left behind, he can take them. In the meantime, heading to Longneck Plateau will grant access to all shops and Eelevators for this area.
2. Which of these locally-debuting foes uses its feet to harm Donkey Kong?

Answer: Stompoid

One of a couple of newer foes found in the Canyon Layer, Stompoids consist of a gold skull surrounded by a hard substance and a foot upon which it perches and bounces around, and both of these segments are generally protected by thick stone or metal (or void material, at times), forcing Donkey Kong to pick his moments to strike. When these enemies jump into the air, they'll indicate the radius, on the ground, in which damage will be taken.

Squeeloids also show a new variant in this Layer as foes which explode when they charge at DK. You can always hit them away to shoot them at walls or enemies for an unconventional blast attack.
3. Which enemy, encountered tangentially in the Lagoon Layer, returns in the Canyon Layer to battle?

Answer: Grumpy Kong

Though Grumpy Kong will use his VoidCo tools to create Peekabruiser in the final battle arena of the Lagoon Layer, he'll make a quick reappearance as Donkey Kong proceeds to Big-Stretch Peak, locating himself in a cavernous area that leads to a deeper Sublevel below. Grumpy will find it the perfect opportunity to fight back, placing himself atop a mechanical creation known as The King Crockoid. To win the fight, DK needs to hit Grumpy while he's able to get to the top of the vehicle, and to do that, it might be worthwhile to knock out its lower layers to bring it down to your level.
4. These locations are all found on Sublayer 301, in the Banandium Refinery, except which?

Answer: Front Desk

As Donkey Kong falls into the sinkhole within Big-Stretch Peak (caused by destroying the Void Stake guarded by Grumpy Kong), he'll land in a subterranean region of platforms connected by mine cart tracks, many of which are guarded by Stompoids and laser cutters. Passing through the Gravel Storage, the Staff Offices, and the Staff Dorms (in that order) will bring him to the cause of all the ruckus in this part of the Layer, helping to bring order to the place after VoidCo's raid. And it's a chaos that can only be fixed with... you guessed it... Boom Rocks.
5. The largest Fossil that can be collected in the Canyon Layer is which of these?

Answer: Triceratops

There are sixty-one Leaf Fossils, ten Trilobites, and one massive Triceratops to be unearthed in this Layer, all of which contribute to costs you'll be paying for new Styles at the shop on Longneck Plateau (or one of the Getaways). While all the other Fossils are scattered around the map, the Triceratops will always be found on Sublayer 301 along the mine cart tracks. You'll need to toss Boom Rocks at it from a distance to dislodge it and claim it for yourself.
6. The fight against Mad Mixer will be fought in which circumstance?

Answer: From a mine cart

When Donkey Kong and Pauline reach the Banandium Refinery Mixer in the middle of Sublayer 301, they'll find their way to a single, circular mine cart track that rotates around the unexpected boss of the caves, the Mad Mixer, which was created by VoidCo to extract as much Banandium from the Fractones' mines as possible. To beat the boss, Donkey Kong needs to collect Bomb Rocks and hurl them and the foe, sometimes doing so by breaking down rotating protective barriers to gain line of sight. Finishing the fight will stop the stealing.
7. Which of these Smokestacks will Donkey Kong inadvertently knock over?

Answer: Neckreach Smokestack

When Donkey Kong destroys the Mad Mixer, the event will tip over the colossal Neckreach Smokestack, which until that point had previously overlooked Longneck Plateau as though a massive giraffe neck, causing it to fall over towards Mechaneck Isle. Doing this will grant access to the later portion of the Layer and an inevitable third boss fight atop Click-Clack Smokestack (which stays intact).
8. Up to how many Getaways can you create in Canyon Layer?

Answer: Twelve

While the first encounter with Getways, back in the Hilltop Layer, only resulted in a single Getaway being formed, Canyon Layer appears to be creating an entire community, just from carefully-placed Architectones found all over the map. Each one of these will create a Getaway for a basic amount of money that increases with every new build, meaning that the final one in this Layer costs 1,200 Banandium Chips.

The Comfy Level, or the level at which you replenish health at each of these, caps out at 5.
9. The third boss encountered in the Canyon Layer is Void Kong.

Answer: False

It's actually Stompenclomper, a massive Stompoid foe that walks around atop the sealed sinkhole on Sublayer 302 at the bottom of the Canyon Layer. The third boss of the area, it's similar to the Stompoids found throughout the region as its weak spot is a protected, golden piece that hides within layers of stone stacked atop crushing feet. Donkey Kong just needs to punch through and pummel it to bits. Halfway through the fight, the stone shell will be replaced by a metal one, leaving you to going into Bananza Form to keep fighting.
10. Completion of Canyon Layer leads Donkey Kong to what intermediary location at Sublayer 400?

Answer: The Divide

Passing through the Sinkhole at Layer 302 will drop Donkey Kong and Pauline all the way down to a small area at Sublayer 400 known only as The Divide, and here, though there is a small handful of Banandium Gems waiting, the point is to pick one of two branching paths to determine where you'll head next. Taking the left path will take you to the Freezer Layer at Sublayer 500; taking the right goes to the Forest Layer at Sublayer 600. You'll end up heading to both regardless, but at least you can pick which comes first.
