Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the Dreglord's name?

Answer: Straghess

Like with most Nightlords, Straghess' name appears next to a standard large boss health bar when the fight begins.
2. The Dreglord has two titles it bears during this fight. During first phase, it is known as "Traitorous." What does its title become come second phase?

Answer: Pure Impulse

When second phase begins, Straghess' attacks become noticeable faster and more agile, with a reduced emphasis on feral rage. This makes the 'Pure Impulse' moniker out to be somewhat ironic, as it definitely fights with more 'pure impulse' in first phase.
3. The description to this expedition explicitly tells player that The Dreglord has no weaknesses. This is not true. What is The Dreglord's biggest weakness?

Answer: Holy

Holy deals 25% extra damage against Straghess, with Fire coming in a close second at 20%.

Holy nor Fire, or anything for that matter, are capable of applying a debuff or doing anything special apart from simply deal more damage. Still, they do deal noticeably more damage, qualifying as weaknesses.
4. The game informs the player that The Dreglord has no weaknesses. Does it have any resistances?

Answer: Yes

Although small, Straghess has a 10% resistance to Lightning with a much larger resistance to both Poison and Scarlet Rot. The Lightning resistance is barely enough to even be noticeable, so if the player did happen upon some amazing source of Lightning such as the Dragon King's Cragblade, they should not be deterred from using it.
5. During Night 1 of this expedition, players could find themselves fighting this beast of a boss from the "Elden Ring" DLC. Which of the following can appear here?

Answer: Rugalea the Great Red Bear

Amazingly, From Software did not give new movesets to certain wickedly iconic reused bosses, such as Nameless King and Smelter Demon. Yet, this seemingly random albeit huge bear got a moveset makeover, able to use four whole attacks in this game that it simply cannot during its original appearance.

These attacks actually were pretty well balanced for the context of this game, making Rugalea out to be quite formidable.
6. Night 2 of this expedition has the potential to feature one of the single most recognizable, iconic bosses in all of "Dark Souls" history. Who can appear to fight the player here?

Answer: Knight Artorias

Artorias was plastered all over promotional material before this expedition was released. At the time, the predominant concern amongst the playerbase was that Artorias originated in a game which launched in 2011; how would such a legendary boss be faithfully, yet meaningfully be reused in a game much faster than his original?

From Software mercifully answered the call, making Artorias a lot faster and giving him a couple of different moves to use that fit this game well. As such, Artorias is a very appropriate challenge for a Night 2 boss. And given that it's freaking Artorias, his inclusion is very simply just incredibly cool in general.
7. If a nostalgia trip on Night 2 isn't in order, the boss could instead be a reused boss from the "Elden Ring" DLC, and one who was heavily used to promote this game itself. Who can appear in this fashion?

Answer: Divine Beast Dancing Lion

This fight is straight up almost the exact same thing from its original, as the beast has no new moves and acts no differently here than when fought in its original appearance.

That said, one mechanic from this game hinders the lion greatly; unlike other From Software games, there is both a plainly distinguishable auditory and visual cue when any enemy is about to use a grab attack. The visual cue is a collection of purple lightning from the source, and the auditory cue is very loud and noticeable when a grab is on the way.

The lion's deadliest attack is a grab attack. It is deadly because it often comes right out without any warning, at least during its original appearance. It is highly telegraphed here, making the lion's single nastiest attack far easier to deal with here than in its original showing.

For that reason, this is quite literally the same fight, but strictly easier.
8. Players may see that The Dreglord can easily afflict them with Scarlet Rot, and they may go out of their way to acquire Power of the Rotted Forest to grant them a full fledged immunity to Scarlet Rot. Will this power help to stave off the Dreglord in any way?

Answer: No

When third phase of this fight begins, a phase in which Dreglord can start threatening Scarlet Rot, the player will read a message on the side of their screen that says "One power of the Favor of the Rotted Woods was lost" before the phase begins. There is still a benefit to venturing to the Rotted Woods, as numerous offensive and defensive measures around Scarlet Rot will not just be randomly lost for no apparent reason.

If players find this aspect cheap, it's because it is. It suggests that From Software did not know they would be making the Dreglord, when they were amidst making The Rotted Woods. There is no other instance of an acquired Shifting Earth power simply disappearing than this. It is cheap, the game never warns the player it could happen until it's far, far too late. And the game doesn't even offer any lore to suggest why this happens.
9. Dreglord is capable of summoning help, up to and including summoning multiple Wormface bosses to join the fight with him. Players may rush to slay these enemies to expose The Dreglord once again, but in doing so, should be mindful to try and land the last hit with a particular element. What element, if used to kill Dreglord's help, can turn his help against him?

Answer: Fire

If any of Dreglord's help is killed using Fire of any means, the dying enemy will leave behind a pool of fire that will damage Dreglord if - and typically, when - he touches it. If the help is killed using anything other than fire, the pool of fire will instead be a pool of Scarlet Rot that will not hurt Dreglord and, of course, would instead hurt the player.

The "help" summoned will be, at random, a small group of Putrid Corpses or the aforementioned Wormface.
10. When defeating Dreglord for the first time, players will receive The Night of Dregs relic. What is one trait attached to this relic?

Answer: Rot in Vicinity Causes Continuous HP Recovery

As Scarlet Rot is Dreglord's main element of choice, and boss-specific relics tend to try and emulate the boss they're attached to, Rot proccing this effect makes sense.

Unfortunately, there are very limited means to actually afflict Rot available to the player. This does change greatly if the player arranges for The Rotted Woods Shifting Earth to appear during their expedition, making this a great idea for players seeking to utilize this relic.
