Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With Phoenix having lost his late mentor, Mia, this episode showcases someone new at his side. Who is directly assisting Phoenix Wright during this episode?

Answer: Maya Fey

Mia's younger sister, Maya, would go on to help Phoenix for this and next episode before departing at the conclusion of the latter.
2. Employees of the studio which produces the 'Steel Samurai' TV show end up being impactful to this case. However, one of them is simply known as "the security lady" and doesn't actually get a name until after she initially testifies. What is the name for the security lady?

Answer: Wendy Oldbag

Oldbag will testify and interact with the player multiple times throughout this episode. She begins as being crabby and mostly detestable, but experiences a satisfying character redemption towards the end of the plot and later ends up being crucial aid to Phoenix amidst his investigation.
3. "The assistant" is also an important character and, like the security lady, she would not actually get a name until well after she would get introduced. Who is the assistant?

Answer: Penny Nichols

Penny never ends up testifying, but she is similarly helpful to Phoenix and Maya as they investigate the studio.
4. One key item which ends up initially providing an alibi for multiple suspects in this case is the studio's mascot, Mr Monkey. Mr Monkey collapsed due to strong winds and blocked an entire pathway of the studio off, sealing people inside Studio 2 until law enforcement could have it removed. Between what times was this pathway inaccessible?

Answer: 2:15 PM - 4:00 PM

The murder took place at 2:30. This makes the Mr Monkey obstruction out to be very, very notable, as it made passage to and from Studio 2 impossible. Studio 2 is where the murder took place, meaning anyone not at Studio 2 would've had an alibi.
5. A young 'Steel Samurai' superfan by the name of Cody would end up testifying. He would end up getting reduced to tears however, as he recounted seeing the Steel Samurai fight someone. Having recorded every single one of the Steel Samurai's victories, why is Cody distraught after this testimony?

Answer: The Steel Samurai didn't win

In actuality, Cody witnessed Jack Hammer, in a Steel Samurai suit, falling to his immediate demise atop a steel gate. He was so upset over the Steel Samurai "losing" the fight that he did not take a picture of the event. It is likely that his unwillingness to accept his hero having been defeated led him to convince himself that Steel Samurai actually won.
6. A photo of the defendant, Will Powers, is a key piece of evidence. It showcases a man in a Steel Samurai costume limping as he carries the Samurai Spear with him. The picture is dated as happening on the day of the murder, at 2 PM, half an hour before it took place. However, there is one key issue with this picture that makes it extremely important to the trial. What do we learn about this picture?

Answer: It isn't actually Will Powers

The man in the picture cannot possibly be Will Powers. This is a relatively easy deduction to make, as the game stresses many times that Powers was taking a nap in the dressing room from 1-5 PM. There are sleeping pills and evidence that Powers' lunch was laced with them to back this alibi up.

As it would turn out, the man in the picture was bizarrely enough Jack Hammer, the victim. He had stolen Powers' suit while he slept and dressed in it to try and fool the site's security cameras into believing he was Will Powers.
7. When the player finds the real perpetrator to the crime, we also discover something quite shocking about the Samurai Spear, the documented murder weapon. What do we learn about this spear?

Answer: It wasn't the murder weapon

The cause of death was indeed being impaled through the chest, but the Samurai Spear being the weapon was always just an educated assumption. In actuality, Jack Hammer approached the 2nd Studio Trailer because he wanted to murder Dee Vasquez. In self defense, she pushed him away from her, and the push was at just the right angle to where it would cause Jack Hammer to fall backward directly atop a steel gate surrounding the trailer. Thus, the murder weapon was actually a gate.
8. As Phoenix and Maya seem to have finally found the true culprit, the culprit calls in some friends who aim to have the pair kidnapped, beaten or worse. It is then that Phoenix's knight in shining armor saves the day and drives away the culprit's henchmen. Who rescues Phoenix in the Studio 2 trailer?

Answer: Dick Gumshoe

Right as the culprit orders their men to take Phoenix and his partner away, Gumshoe breaks down the door and proclaims he heard everything that was said, including evidence that would help bring the truth to light. He chases away the culprit's henchmen and safely escorts Phoenix away from the situation.
9. In the end, who killed Jack Hammer?

Answer: Dee Vasquez

Vasquez, in self defense, pushed Jack Hammer to his death as he fell atop a steel gate. She tried to cover it up by having her men and director Sal Minella help transport the body and remove the Steel Samurai costume. This was done with the intent of framing Will Powers for the act.
10. In the end, is Phoenix Wright able to secure a Not Guilty verdict for his client?

Answer: Yes

After proving Dee Vasquez' guilt in the manner, Will Powers' involvement was obviously cleared up. As a result, Will Powers would go on to be the Steel Samurai and, later, the Pink Princess that the kids' cartoon world needed.
