Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of this case?

Answer: The First Turnabout

The name of the cases can be found on the Case Selection screen. This one is called the first turnabout due to it being the first case of the series.
2. Who is the defendant of this case?

Answer: Larry Butz

Larry is Phoenix's childhood friend. A catchphrase he earned during childhood is "When something smells, it's usually the Butz." This has followed him through to adulthood, where he is now on trial as the prime suspect in a murder case.
3. Who is Pheonix's mentor?

Answer: Mia Fey

Mia is there to help Phoenix through his first case. She teaches Phoenix how to use the Court Record, and how to successfully cross-examine a witness.
4. Who is the prosecutor for this case?

Answer: Winston Payne

Payne is very bad at getting his points across, as can be seen in this case. His best argument to Phoenix's claims is to say that it's nonsense.
5. What is the name of the victim in this case?

Answer: Cindy Stone

Cindy was killed by The Thinker, a clock made to look like a statue. It tells the time out loud when the head is flipped.
6. Who is the main witness for this case?

Answer: Frank Sawhit

He testifies that he saw Larry leaving the apartment and then entering and finding Cindy's body. As seen here, the names of the characters involved in the cases usually contain some kind of pun.
7. Which piece of evidence proves when the victim had changed the time of the clock?

Answer: Passport

The passport showed that Cindy had just returned from a trip to Paris. The time is nine hours ahead of Pacific Time Zone, which is why the clock was off when it was sounded.
8. Being Phoenix's first case, the Judge does something that he normally doesn't do.

Answer: True

The Judge has Phoenix answer some questions to calm his nerves. While it doesn't change the outcome of the case, you do have to answer the question right eventually in order to proceed.
9. Why was the phone unable to work in the apartment at the time of the murder?

Answer: There was a blackout.

According to the blackout report, there was a blackout from 1PM to 4PM. That is why the phone, being cordless, was unable to function.
10. Who actually murdered the victim?

Answer: Frank Sawhit

Frank actually murdered Cindy, and framed Larry so he could get away with it. After being found out, Frank passes out, and Larry is given the verdict of Not Guilty.
