For the penultimate leg of the race, the final four teams needed to take a flight from Kota Kinabalu and cross Borneo to the Malaysian city of Kuching. There, racers would leave the airport in the order that they arrived at the tenth Pit Stop, cracking open clues sending them through the city to the Petanak Central Market. They drove themselves to the market, picking up a list of items that they would use to prepare breakfast for the local wildlife at the Semenggoh Wildlife Center, where they'd find their next clue.

Answer: Circus

Teams remained in Siem Reap, Cambodia for Leg 9, opening clues on Sivutha Boulevard after being transported back in the city from Tonlé Sap. This clue sent them, on foot, to the Royal Independence Gardens to find a Detour clue that would have them joining the Phare Circus. In 'Start the Giggles', racers had the opportunity to show off their comedy chops. Joining circus performers, racers had to learn a slapstick comedy routine that would have them coordinating as a pair to pull off silly acrobatic tricks for a pair of judges.

Answer: Angkor Wat

Leaving Malaysia, six teams were flown from Penang, Malaysia to Siem Reap and departed from the airport in the order they arrived at the sixth Pit Stop. Touching down, racers were given a clue sending them by cycle-rickshaw to the Chum Theany Angkor Souvenir Shop where they would be told to head to Angkor Wat, the largest temple complex in Southeast Asia. Once there, racers would have to search the grounds for an offering that they could give to a monk watching from one of the temple's highest points. He'd give them a blessing and their next clue.

Answer: Kochi

Over the course of the teams' second Pit Stop, all racers were transported to their next destination city, Kochi, on the southwest coast of India, where they would start their third leg of the race. Teams began at a point on the edge of the West Coast Canal system and departed in the order they arrived at Mehtab Bagh in Agra the day before. To start, they had to grab a marked taxi and make their way to the Musical Walkway Bridge on Marine Drive to find their next clue.

Answer: Chandni Chowk

The race's first leg started the teams off in Delhi, India, and after racing off to the Royal Palace Hotel, teams could choose between two tough tasks taking them through Chandni Chowk. For 'Chicken Dish', racers could go on a shopping trip, collecting ingredients to make the perfect butter chicken sauce for a local restaurant. In 'Wedding Wish', however, teams instead had to locate mannequins in the market streets, then purchase all of the clothing and accessories to match the examples to pose in a photograph. The challenge was split fairly even with six completing the former and five completing the latter due to an unaired, but mandatory division.

Answer: Intersection

Reaching the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, all four teams found an Intersection board awaiting them, their second of the race, having seen it before in Agra in Leg 2. This meant that, until further notice, each team had to pair up with another to complete tasks, and here this involved oranguatans. To begin, one team had to prepare breakfast for the primates while the other team went into the jungle to call the picky eaters. Additionally, all teams would receive information from local guides and be required to memorize those facts for a test. If they got the questions correct, they'd be able to race without being paired any longer. Darren and Tristan paired with Alli and Angie while Harry and Teddy were left to work with Emma and Hayley.

'Stop the Wobbles', the racers' alternate Detour option, also sent them to the circus, but instead of learning a routine, they needed to perform a more technical feat by mastering a balance trick, standing barefoot on wooden cylinders for a complete minute (for each racer) to collect their next clue. Alli and Angie, Harry and Teddy, and Jana and Cor completed this task while Emma and Hayley and Darren and Tristan 'Started the Giggles'.

Handing the care package off to the correct monk meant racers could get their Detour clue, and the first of their possible options was 'Protect Your House'. Racers headed to this task had to make their way to the Preah Ang Kmao Pagoda where they would be able to find an example of a spirit house, a small shrine for local gods. With this example, racers had to replicate the spirit house at a distant station one kilometre away. Getting it right would get them their next clue. Alli and Angie, Bec and Kate, and Emma and Hayley completed this task.

Answer: In tents on the beach

Racers were able to trade their crab earnings to a local beachminder to get their next clue, and opening this they discovered that they would be heading to the Penang city of George Town for the rest of the leg, taking a flight the next morning and departing from the airport in the order they received their clue on the beach. The catch was that all money earned from the crabs needed to be spent to buy the racers a tent that they would be sleeping in, on the beach, for the night. They would depart at sunrise.

Answer: Tiger

The Musical Walkway Bridge held the Detour clue for this leg. In 'Stripe It', racers headed to Ernakulam Thirumala Devaswom to meet the Puli Kali dancers. To get their next clue, racers needed to properly paint a dancer's belly with a tiger image to replicate the head dancer in order to receive their next clue. In 'Strike It', however, teams instead went to Maharaja's College Stadium to learn how to play kuttiyum kolum. If they could score one hundred points via the measurement method in the game, they could get their next clue. Emma and Hayley, Alli and Angie, and Peter and Frankie chose 'Stripe It' while Darren and Tristan, Jana and Cor, Harry and Teddy, George and Pam, Ben and Jackie, and Bec and Kate all chose 'Strike It'.

Answer: Mahjong

The clue teams were given at the George Town Airport informed them that they could choose one of the Detour options presented to them, and the first of these was called 'Piles of Tiles'. For this task, racers made their way into the city to The Dutchie Penang. Once there, they could search through a massive bucket of mahjong tiles to hunt down the 144 needed to create a full game. Once they prepared a proper mahjong setup, omitting the extras, they could get their next clue. It was Darren and Tristan, Jana and Cor, Emma and Hayley, and Ben and Jackie who went this way.

If racers were interested in pursuing the Fast Forward, presented to them after the Detour, they could proceed on foot to Parakkat Jewels to get further instructions. What they found when they arrived was that they could skip all tasks and head directly to the next Pit Stop, but only if they received nose piercings from the visited establishment. Once both team members had the studs placed in their noses, they would get their next clue. Darren and Tristan were the first to arrive and they succeeded in the challenge.

Racers flew to Kochi in the State of Kerala, India in Leg 3, and their Detour was a choice between the detail-oriented and the physical. With 'Stripe It', teams joined the Puli Kali belly dancers, working to paint the dancers' bellies with their unique tiger designs. In 'Strike It', teams instead headed to the grounds at Maharaja's College Stadium to learn kuttiyum kolum, striking a stick and measuring their distances until they had enough ground covered to get their next clue.

Kinari Bazar was the destination teams needed to venture to for the 'Wedding Wish' Detour option, so diving deeper into Chandni Chowk, they could pursue this if they so chose. For this task, racers needed to find two marked mannequins in the bazar streets, both dressed in traditional wedding garb, and memorize their outfits. Then, using their leg money, they had to purchase the proper items from the local shops, then pose for a photo with the correct styling to get their next clue. Darren and Tristan, Grant and Chezzi, Ben and Jackie, Jana and Cor, and George and Pam all went for this task.

Answer: Blowgun

All teams, leaving the wildlife centre, had to make their way to Kampung Danu to build a bamboo raft. After riding their raft six kilometres down the rapid-laden Sarawak Kanan River, racers would get their next clue, a Road Block, and need to pick the participant. For this challenge, Tristan, Alli, Emma, and Teddy needed to use a traditional blowgun, properly firing their darts to hit three different fruit targets. Doing this would allow them to race on to the Pit Stop.

Answer: Paper

If racers didn't want to dig through mahjong tiles they could instead complete the 'Burn Your Boat' task, travelling to Hin Bus Depot and learning how to properly fold and create intricate paper boats out of Joss paper. If racers could make five, they could collect their next clue. Harry and Teddy, Bec and Kate, Allie and Angie, and George and Pam completed this task. No matter the Detour option, racers were directed to Carnarvon Street for one last task before the end of the leg.

Answer: Hindi

Completing the Detour allowed teams to proceed deeper into New Delhi, joining some local children to learn Hindi. For this task, teams raced to the Defence Colony Club where they could join a group of kids at a pool party. The catch is that they needed to properly memorize and recite a phrase provided to them which, when translated, would say 'Please help me. I need to get to Qutub Minar.' Little did teams know, this phrase would help them on their way to the next Pit Stop.

Answer: Harry and Teddy

The end of the leg led the teams on foot to the Pit Stop as they searched for Beau and the mat at a bend in the Sarawak Kanan River. The catch is that they needed to locate the bend with little direction, searching the rainforest until they found what they sought. Despite their Speed Bump, Alli and Angie overtook all the other teams, landing on the mat in first due to clever navigation and securing their spot in the finale. They were followed by Darren and Tristan, who got lost en route to the mat, and Emma and Hayley, who narrowly kept ahead of the boys to stay in the competition. It meant that Harry and Teddy would head home in fourth place, one leg shy of the finish line.

If racers could prove their patience and wind their silk they could get their last clue and proceed on foot to the ninth Pit Stop of the race, the Khmer-made Chamkar House, a farm property in rural Sangkat, Cambodia. Emma and Hayley managed to keep ahead for the majority of the leg, finding Beau and the Pit Stop mat with a comfortable lead and winning their hotel upgrade. This would be their second win in a row and third of the race thus far. Competitive mother and son team Jana and Cor found that this leg was their last one. They checked in last at the Pit Stop after falling behind with the broom and silk tasks and were eliminated from the race.

Answer: Bec and Kate

Despite the Detour mixing up teams' standings and the Road Block truly testing the racers' fortitudes, racers made it on foot to the Pit Stop to check in, meeting Beau at Wat Damnak in an effort to avoid elimination. Darren and Tristan left the Road Block earliest and won the sprint to the mat against Alli and Angie, making it their fourth win of the race. Although Harry and Teddy arrived at the Pit Stop sixth, Bec and Kate's sixty minute time penalty dropped the sisters from third to last, eliminating them from the race with five minutes left on the clock.

Answer: Ben and Jackie

Reaching Carnarvon Street, racers needed to spend some of their money to purchase five bachang from a local vendor and then deliver them, on foot, to their fifth Pit Stop, the Chung Keng Quee Temple on the grounds of the Pinang Peranakan Mansion. Alli and Angie excelled in the 'Burn Your Boat' Detour challenge, creating their boats on their first attempt and arriving on the Pit Stop mat to discover they were the first to make it there. The mother and daughter won themselves a luxury stay at the Pit Stop hotel for their efforts, narrowly beating Bec and Kate by mere seconds. In the end of the leg, the 'Piles of Tiles' proved to be the tougher Detour option, pulling down several teams. It was Ben and Jackie who fell to the bottom as a result and they were eliminated from the race.

Answer: George and Pam

After the Road Block, teams had to hop into cab and then into a Shikara boat in the town of Kainakary to navigate to the Gopi Sundar House. One more task would await teams there as they had to eat a basket of thirty Changalikodan bananas. If they peeled a blue banana, they could trade it for one last clue. Finishing out the leg, racers had to make their way to a Kettuvallam, a houseboat which would act as the host of the Pit Stop for this leg out on Meenappally Kayal. Darren and Tristan arrived first, boosted by their Fast Forward win, taking another night stay in a luxury hotel suite at the Pit Stop for this leg. George and Pam, however, arrived in last place (despite Jana and Cor forgetting their belongings twice). They were, however, spared by non-elimination.

Answer: Spiders

Visiting the Asana Old Wooden House restaurant in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the remaining six teams had to stomach perhaps the toughest eating challenge of the season, waiting as their tarantulas and spiders were fried and then indulging in the local delicacy to get their final clue of the leg. Angie, Hayley, Tristan, Jana, Teddy, and Kate all had to help cook the food, then eat their meals (three spiders and four bowls of grubs and other assorted bugs) to clear the task and head to the Pit Stop. Bec and Kate took an hour-long penalty at the Pit Stop instead of taking the meal and it resulted in their elimination.

Answer: Dane and Bow

Once teams had their Hindi phrases memorized they would receive their final clue of the leg and use the phrase they'd recited to find their way (by tuk-tuk) to the first Pit Stop of the race, the minaret landmark of Qutub Minar, literally translating to Victory Tower. There, Darren and Tristan managed to navigate their way to a first place win at the last few steps, claiming a victory prize entitling them to a luxury room at the Pit Stop hotel. After a long, hot day, it was Dane and Bow who checked into the Pit Stop in last place, eliminating the race's oldest contestant and leaving ten teams still going.

Answer: Khmer

Between Legs 7 and 8, racers were transported from their Pit Stop near Angkor Wat to a spot much closer to the massive Southeast Asian lake known as Tonlé Sap where, ripping open their clues, they were told to travel to the nearby Ponloeu Angkor Bookstore. There, teams would be able to purchase school supplies that they could deliver by boat to the floating primary school at Chong Khneas, one of Cambodia's floating villages. Before they could get their next clue, racers would need to join the school kids, learning a rendition of "Old McDonald Had a Farm" in the local language of Khmer and performing it for the class.

Answer: Malaysia

Over the course of the third Pit Stop, the nine remaining teams were transported out of India and to their next destination, the nation of Malaysia. Specifically, racers needed to start their fourth leg on the tropical island of Langkawi, off Peninsular Malaysia's coast in the Malacca Strait. The overnight flight would get them to the airport in the early morning and they would depart in the order they arrived at the previous Pit Stop, hopping into vehicles and making their way to Telaga Harbour for their next clue.

Answer: A cup

After a day out on the waters of Tonlé Sap, racers docked and set foot back on solid land for their Road Block, a task that would ask one racer from each pairing to use traditional methods to prepare jasmine rice crops for sale. To accomplish this, the participants had to use a large mortar and pestle to crush the harvested grain, allowing the inner rice to be loosened from its shell. Then, sifting the rice by tossing it into the air, they could grab the prepared grains and collect them in a cup that could be traded, when full, for their next clue. Emma, Alli, Darren, Cor, and Harry completed this task.

Racers encountered the rare limited station Detour in Leg 6 and only four teams could complete either 'Treats' or 'Eats' per what was available to them. While 'Treats' (selected by all the earlier teams) allowed racers to replicate a Malay koay dessert platter, 'Eats' had them eating a traditional soup, sup torpedo, containing bull tongue and penis. Racers completing the latter task had to consume all provided components to keep racing. The true irony was that it was their choice from the get-go, but anyone with a stomach of steel could get through quickly.

Answer: Around the World in Eighty Days

After their dessert challenge, racers needed to hop back into a cab and make their way to BookXcess RexKL, one of the world's largest bookstores. There, racers had to grab a treasure map located in the labyrinthine store's travel section. Using this, they had to determine how to read the map using the store's complex bookshelves. If they could line things up just right, they'd find their next clue within a copy of Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days" and they'd be able to continue onward.

The city of Kota Kinabalu was merely a starting point for teams in Leg 10 as they were sent to the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park on Gaya Island for the bulk of their tasks, inevitably reaching Padang Point to complete a Road Block. Here, racers needed to 'head hunt', and Emma, Angie, Darren, and Harry ended up making a lengthy hike through the rainforest searching for nine tribal masks hidden amongst the trees. At the end of their hike, these racers needed to properly order the mask based on where they were seen on the route to get their next clue.
