Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to a song by Nine Inch Nails, what don't you want to do if you want to get along with others in life?

Answer: Bite the Hand that Feeds You.

"Bite The Hand That Feeds" appeared on the album "With Teeth" released in 2005. It was one of the band's top-selling singles.
2. Which thing would Screech, Zach, Kelly, Lisa and Slater tell you that being "Saved By" can be quite a relief?

Answer: Bell

"Saved By The Bell" was an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993. It centered around a group of students at fictional Bayside High School.
3. Can you pick out the correct phrase said for luck (with a matching gesture) that is also a song title originally performed by Eddie Floyd in 1966?

Answer: Knock on Wood

You not only say this phrase, you actually knock lightly on wood as you say it. The song "Knock On Wood" was co-written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper and has been covered many times by several artists.
4. What common phrase involves a pet and its tail and is also the title of a 1997 movie starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro?

Answer: Wag the Dog

"Wag The Dog" was an interesting movie that illustrated that sometimes the solution is worse than the original problem and also what happens when the "tail wags the dog."
5. The "Graveyard Shift" is another name for third shift, the shift that works overnight. It is also the title of a short story written by which master of horror?

Answer: Stephen King

"Graveyard Shift" was first published in "Cavalier" Magazine in 1970. I read it in the collection of stories entitled "Night Shift" which was published in 1978, and became a lifelong fan of Stephen King after reading this imaginative work.
6. Which phrase is the title of a 1997 British comedy film involving six out of work men trying to establish another career? The phrase has two meanings, one of which is "the whole thing" and the other is the very funny subject of the movie.

Answer: The Full Monty

Another meaning of "The Full Monty" is being completely nude. Seeing a huge line of women waiting to see male strippers gives the main character of the movie "The Full Monty" the idea to form his own group of male dancers with hilarious results.
7. Which 1988 movie starring Chevy Chase is also a phrase used to describe a mental institution?

Answer: Funny Farm

In this movie, Chevy Chase buys a farm in the country for peace and quiet. The crazy characters he encounters makes for an entertaining show.
8. What song released by the group Asia in 1982, describes someone taken over by passion?

Answer: Heat of the Moment

Asia formed in 1981. Their self-titled debut album sold nearly 10 million copies and led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Later albums could not match earlier success.
9. The works of William Shakespeare are the source of many now popular idioms. Which quote from the play "Julius Caesar" was spoken by Mark Antony and is also a line from a song from The Beatles entitled, "With A Little Help From My Friends"?

Answer: Lend Me Your Ears

The phrase is only part of the first line of the play 'Julius Caesar' (Act 3 Scene 2) written by William Shakespeare and spoken by Mark Antony: "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him..."
10. The phrase "it will go over like a lead balloon" inspired which legendary rock group's name change?

Answer: Led Zeppelin

I have found a few different versions concerning who said that phrase to group members in their first incarnation as The New Yardbirds. One version is that a music producer said it after hearing a demo tape. Another version alternately attributes the quote to The Who's John Entwistle and/or Keith Moon's response when asked to join the band.

The last version I know of involves a newspaper article which was very critical of the band's first concert. At any rate, band members made the switch and became one of the greats in rock history.
