Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'FETCH!' is hosted by Ruff Ruffman, who (judging by his name) is not a person but a cartoon _____.

Answer: dog

Ruff Ruffman is a tubby yellow-and-orange dog. He became bored with his life until he called some TV network executives and convinced them to let him make a reality-based game show. They were surprised to find that a dog had signed the contract!

Ruff is a cartoon dog. Jim Conroy does his voice.
2. Ruff Ruffman was assisted by a creature named Blossom, but then she became his boss! She still lets him host, though. She only talks with purrs and other noises. What kind of animal is she?

Answer: cat

Her full name is Princess Blossom Pepperdoodle Von Yum Yum. She is a beautiful black cat who types a lot on her laptop. She and Ruff are very loyal to each other, although Ruff really tries her patience! One time, Blossom pretended to work for the woman who fired Ruff to find out why she hates dogs. She joined the show in season 2.
3. Each season of 'FETCH!' has six kids who go out in the real world to complete challenges. They are called Fetchers, and they compete for points. Most challenges involve science or solving problems. Sometimes they learn new skills like fencing or cooking. Which of the following challenges did they not do?

Answer: Brian went to help soldiers fight the war in Afghanistan.

Nobody went to any war! Ruff Ruffman would not send the kids someplace where they could get hurt!

The other challenges really happened! Other challenges included solving mysteries and learning how to take care of dogs. They learned how liquids are recycled on the Space Station. They went to Sea World to help the trainer with Shamu the orca. They learned how to pole vault. So the kids on 'FETCH!' have done all kinds of things! They get up to 100 points per challenge.
4. Not all kids get challenges every day on 'FETCH!'. Sometimes one or two will stay behind in Studio G while the other Fetchers go off and do the challenges. What do the kids in Studio G do for points?

Answer: They take part in the Half-time Quiz Show.

They stay in Studio G and take a quiz on the challenges that the other kids are doing. They can get up to 50 points. You can play along to. If you pay attention, then you will get all the answers correct.

Studio G is a garage that Ruff converted to a studio. It is next to his doghouse.

Don't worry that the kids taking the quiz get fewer points than the ones doing challenges. Every day Ruff reads the kids the Fetch Fairness Guarantee. It states that every contestant will "compete for the same number of points" in thirteen challenges and six Half-time Quiz Shows before the final episode.
5. The Fetchers have met all kinds of famous people while doing challenges. All of these folks appeared on 'FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman'. Which one of these is not a real person (or real people)?

Answer: Crush the Sea Turtle

Crush the Sea Turtle is a cartoon animal who appeared in the movie 'Finding Nemo'. Crush appeared on 'FETCH!' thanks to the Fetch 3000, Ruff's super-advanced computer that can do almost anything.

The show is based in Boston, so it makes sense that one of the kids would meet Senator Ted Kennedy while playing the game. He served a long time in office and was very popular.

Penn and Teller are magicians. They mainly work in Las Vegas. One contestant, Rubye, got to meet them. They taught her a trick that she was able to do in real life, like a real street magician! Her father was very impressed.

Ruff wanted to send the kids to meet a "blues band". By mistake, they met the Blue Man Group. The men paint themselves blue, and they don't speak, and they do all kinds of tricks on the stage and play music.
6. There are all kinds of other animals who appear on the show, and they help Ruff give out challenges. Some are related to Ruff and some are not. Which one is not a relative of Ruff Ruffman?

Answer: Harriet Hackensack

Harriet Hackensack is from Australia. She bought the network that runs 'FETCH!' She hates dogs, but Blossom the cat, Ruff's intern-turned-boss, gets to the bottom of it and helps her recover.

Grandma Ruffman likes to bake, and she and Ruff are very close. She was once accused of a crime, though. On that day, two kids worked with the district attorney and two kids defended her for their challenge. Thank goodness she was set free!

Scruff Ruffman is Ruff's evil twin. (There always has to be an evil twin on TV!) Rüf Rüfman is Ruff's cousin from Sweden. He is a rock star who uses his music to help the environment.

Ruff has even more relatives all over the world. Great Uncle McRuffmantosh is from Scotland. Cousin Helga von Ruffman is a fashion designer from Germany. Glen Ruffman is from America, and he is very smart and likes fantasy and computers. Sometimes he hacks into the Fetch 3000 and makes trouble for Ruff.
7. Ruff Ruffman has a lot of friends who help him make his show happen. Who is not one of the animals that helps him with his show?

Answer: Gerry Geranium

Gerry Geranium is Grandma Ruffman's pet parrot. He can talk, although he doesn't always make sense. He helped Ruff find his long-lost parents.

Chet is Ruff's intern. Ruff had to hire him when Blossom the cat became Ruff's boss. Chet is a cartoon mouse. He tries to be helpful, but he usually ends up destroying things. When Ruff by mistake dug up a mummy's tomb in the backyard, the mummy's curse had the opposite effect on Chet and made him the perfect intern!

Murray is a basset hound who does the camera work. He is a real dog. When Murray quit, Ruff hired Tank the bulldog. He is real, too. Ruff is frustrated because they don't talk like he does. They just pant.
8. Ruff also has rivals who make trouble for him. Who is NOT one of these rivals?

Answer: Ruffael Ruffmanowitz

Ruffael Ruffmanowitz is Ruff's great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather. He is no longer alive, but he left behind a talking portrait. It's not as creepy as it sounds. (Do you see the words "Ruff" and "Ruffman" within his name? That was your hint that he is family!)

Tom and Trixie are cats who run a rival show called 'Go Get It! with Tom and Trixie'. Grandma Ruffman likes that show, much to Ruff's dismay.

Le Purr is Blossom's evil twin and a master of disguise. Her full name is Duchess Petunia Cupcake von Yum Yum. She steals things and makes Ruff very upset.

Spot Spotnik is another cartoon dog. He is always trying to steal Ruff's girlfriend, Charlene the poodle. He also tricked Ruff out of his pants and wore them when he took Charlene to the ball. Ruff made the pants self-destruct, though, so the joke was on Spot!
9. At the end of each show, after the Fetchers return from their challenges, the points are added up during the Triumph Tally in Studio G. Who is the winner?

Answer: The kid with the most points.

During the Triumph Tally, Ruff gives out points to everyone who completed a challenge. Then he gives out Bone-Us Points (bonus points, get it?). Then the Fetcher with the most points wins a prize. But, the kid must pick from two choices, A or B. One is a cool prize, and one is not so cool. But I have never seen a kid unhappy with his or her prize.
10. What happens at the end of each season of 'FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman'?

Answer: Both of these

In each season finale, there is an elimination round. This means that each Fetcher directly competes with the other in some kind of challenge, like a scavenger hunt. The loser is "knocked out". When two kids are left, they compete in one last round for more points.

The Fetcher with the most points for the whole season wins a very nice prize. It's usually something he or she can share with the other kids, though, like a hot-air balloon trip or tickets to a theme park. So in a way, everybody wins!
