Question 1 of 10
1. One of the most hotly debated questions, especially after the death of Dumbledore, was that of Snape's loyalty. Was he good or evil? Fans of the series were divided, each side making strong and valid cases to support their beliefs. Well, he was good, you didn't really think I was going to begin with such an easy one, did you? No, my first question is how old was he when he first met Lily? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. It's mentioned many times in the series that Harry looks very much like his father, but he has his mother's eyes. J K Rowling said in an interview that was very important in a future book. After the Potters are murdered Dumbledore tells Snape that Harry has survived, and that "He has her eyes, precisely her eyes". Where were they when those words were spoken? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The mysterious R.A.B. Many realised that he was in fact Regulus Arcturus Black, Sirius' younger brother, long before Harry discovered the fact for himself at Grimmauld Place. Question 4 of 10
4. At the end of "The Goblet of Fire" Harry thinks he sees "a gleam of something like triumph" in Dumbledore's eyes when he tells of how Voldemort used his blood when he rebuilt his living body. All is finally revealed near the end of "The Deathly Hallows" when Dumbledore tells Harry that Voldemort has tethered him to life while he lives.

Question 5 of 10
5. Will Ron and Hermione get together? Are Harry and Ginny finished for good? Thanks to the epilogue we know that these couples do have a happily ever after, but can you remember where Ron and Hermione were when they first kissed? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. In the 'Extra Stuff' section of her website, J K Rowling posted this under NAQ (never asked questions); "Why did Dumbledore have James' invisibility cloak at the time of James' death, given that Dumbledore could make himself invisible without a cloak?" She also said that "There IS a significant - even crucial - answer" to that question. We now know that he suspected the cloak was one of the Hallows, but why had he not examined it sooner? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Speculation on who would die and why was very popular on Harry Potter message boards, and although many people were killed in this book, I thought I would ask about one who survived. Ollivander provided Harry with a very important piece of information way back in the first book that Harry repeats to Voldemort during their final showdown. Can you remember what that information was? The wand _______ the wizard

Answer: (1 word)
Question 8 of 10
8. The future of Hogwarts at the end of "The Half-Blood Prince" was in doubt, but the school did reopen with attendance compulsory for every young witch or wizard. As Harry, Ron and Hermione are on the run they do not go back for their seventh year. Which roommate of Harry and Ron's also doesn't return for his final year? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. The two way mirror that Sirius gave Harry finally had its part to play. When the Hog's Head barman saves Harry, Ron and Hermione from the Death Eaters in Hogsmeade, Harry sees the partner to his mirror propped on the mantelpiece below a portrait of a girl. Putting two and two together he realises that it is the barman's eye he has been seeing in his mirror, and that the barman must be Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother. From whom did Aberforth get the mirror? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. In "The Half-Blood Prince" Dumbledore made it clear that two people were required to get past the enchantments surrounding the locket Horcrux. We now know that R.A.B used Kreacher to help him retrieve the locket, as Kreacher knew where the locket was, having been with Voldemort when he hid it. What reason did Kreacher give that explained how he had escaped death at the hands of the Inferi after drinking the potion? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: 9 or 10

It is Snape who first tells Lily that she is a witch and all about the magical world to which she now belongs. They stayed friends until their O.W.L year at Hogwarts when Lily tells him that they cannot remain friends since they have both chosen such different paths in life.

Answer: Dumbledore's office

Snape loved Lily for most of his life. While he was still at school he chose his path and joined the Death Eaters, but after he had relayed the overheard prophecy to Voldemort and realised that Voldemort believed it referred to Lily's son and meant to kill all the Potters, he sought Dumbledore's help to keep the them safe. In return he promised Dumbledore "anything". After the murder of James and Lily the anything Dumbledore required of him was to help him protect Lily's son.
At the moment of his death we can imagine that he was not seeing Harry, only his eyes, Lily's eyes.
3. The mysterious R.A.B. Many realised that he was in fact Regulus Arcturus Black, Sirius' younger brother, long before Harry discovered the fact for himself at Grimmauld Place. In their search for the locket they question Kreacher, and in his tale, the house elf mentions how old Regulus was when he joined the Dark Lord. What age did he say Master Regulus was?

Answer: 16

"...And when he was sixteen years old, Master Regulus joined the Dark Lord. So proud, so proud, so happy to serve..."
In "The Order of the Phoenix" Sirius says that Regulus was murdered by Voldemort or one of his Death Eaters. Kreacher reveals that he died when the Inferi pulled him under the water after drinking the potion.

Answer: True

All those who had guessed that Harry was the final Horcrux were correct. Dumbledore explains to Snape (through whose memory Harry also becomes informed)that Voldemort's soul was so unstable by the time he went to kill the Potters that it broke when he attempted to kill Harry, and a part of it latched itself to his would-be victim. Harry's blood in Voldemort's body keeps alive the enchantment Lily laid upon Harry when she died for him.
5. Will Ron and Hermione get together? Are Harry and Ginny finished for good? Thanks to the epilogue we know that these couples do have a happily ever after, but can you remember where Ron and Hermione were when they first kissed?

Answer: The Room of Requirement

In the middle of the Battle of Hogwarts Ron remembers the house elves in the kitchens below. Seems like Kreacher's tale and Dobby's death have made him realise that house elves have feelings too. When he says that they can't order the house elves to die for them, Hermione drops everything she is holding and kisses him.

Answer: James had never told him of it

As J K Rowling herself had stated that this question was important the theories came thick and fast. Having no idea of the Hallows, most seemed to think that the cloak was some sort of Horcrux, not one of Voldemort's, but maybe James or even Godric Gryffindor had made one of their own. James had shown the cloak to Dumbledore a few days before he was killed and Dumbledore, suspecting its true nature, asked to borrow it so that he could study it. Until then Dumbledore hadn't known James possessed the cloak.

Answer: chooses

Ollivander first says those words to Harry when he is purchasing his wand in "The Philosopher's Stone" and repeats them during their conversation at Shell Cottage just after he identifies the hawthorn and unicorn hair wand Harry has as having belonged to Draco Malfoy.

This piece of wandlore is crucial to the possession of the Elder Wand. During a webchat on Bloomsbury's official website after the release of "The Deathly Hallows", J K Rowling explained that although a wizard may use any wand, the wand that chooses them will work best.

Answer: Dean Thomas

As a muggle-born, Dean would not have the Blood Status now necessary to attend Hogwarts. Those without at least one close wizarding relative have been proven to have stolen their magic, according to recent research done by the Department of Mysteries, and must suffer the punishment.

However, J K Rowling has always said that Dean had an interesting background, and her website states that his father, who left the family when Dean was very young, was a wizard, a fact not known to Dean or his mother.

Answer: Mundungus

Seems like Mundungus was stealing everything he could get his hands on from the Blacks' house. Aberforth bought the mirror from him about a year earlier. Whether he knew what it was when he bought it is unclear, but he does say that his brother told him what the mirror was and that he had been keeping an eye out for them.

Answer: Regulus told him to come back

"The house-elf's highest law is his master's bidding," Kreacher tells the trio when he explains how he was able to escape after the Inferi had dragged him under the lake's surface. Regulus had told him to come home after he'd done what Voldemort ordered him to do. When he went back later with Regulus he was ordered to return with the locket and destroy it, leaving Regulus to die.
